Conworks is a very important asset to Seattle. Their approach of showcasing bold, new works across all areas of art is something very needed in this town of glass blowers and regurgitated trends. While they've had some internal management issues lately, it still remains one of the most exciting art venues in town.
From their website:
"Consolidated Works is a multi-disciplinary contemporary arts center actively developing and presenting work by artists engaged in the exploration of performance, visual art, film, Music and other disciplines. Sam's seems to be taking the opposite approach to most Seattle sushi places: low-key, unassuming, fresh, and reasonably priced. It's right next to the Uptown Theatre, but it's one of those places that for some reason is easy to miss. But I encourage you to try it out. It's not as swanky or exclusive as some of the other fine sushi restaurants in town, but there's something about it that will keep you coming back.

Okay, so Seattle is crawling with musicians who all seem to have an insatiable appetite for new gear. And when you're looking for new gear it's hard to resist Guitar Center. They're huge, they're cheap, but they suck! Use them as a last resort.
Petosa may not have everything you're looking for, but they have the important stuff, the good stuff, not the cheap knock-off crap that Guitar Center tries to pass off as pro gear. But the most important reason to go to Petosa is the staff. They actually know what they're talking about and are happy to help you find what's right for you. Huh, that's a bright idea, no?

I admit it's my female companion who drags me into this boutique, but I'm glad for it. There's a whole line of great shops that we love to drop in on when walking down Pine on our way to downtown, and this is definitely the sweetest. There are lots of little treasures here, selected with care from a proprietor with exceptional taste.
From their website:
"Focusing on fashion and accessories for modern living, Lipstick Traces carries handmade goods by local and international designers for a constantly new selection of original and small run items... A great place to find original gifts ranging from stationary to jewelry, teapots to guitar straps, beside a comprehensive selection of design, photography, and music related books and magazines for the girl with her own style."

There. I said it. Their fries rule. None of these big slabs of potato sopping with grease that other pubs try to pass off as fries. These are slender, crisp, and sprinkled with herbs and parm. Yum!...

As a resident of Seattle for almost 15 years, I've come to feel that while Seattlites are generally very friendly on the surface, there's a solid wall that most people have up that keeps us from really getting to know people outside our social circles. This also carries over to merchants, who in my opinions are very stand-offish and generally could care less about extending the common courtesies and personal touches that make a customer feel welcomed and appreciated.
The Tasting Room is the complete opposite of this. My proof is in the fact that I know the owners name and she knows mine. She remembers me when I come in, even though there may be months in between my visits. She remembers what kind of wine I like. She even noticed the ring on my fiance's finger after we got engaged.
The real beauty of a wine tasting room in my opinion comes not for connoisseurs, but for novices like myself. What better way to discover what you like and don't like than the change to sample the options with a knowledable and helpful guide. Which again brings me back to the service. They're very attentive and carry not an ounce of snootiness. And they're great advocates for our Washington wines.
One final selling point: location! It's tucked in between the Pink Door and Kell's in Post Alley, near Pike Place Market. The room has lots of old wood, exposed brick, almost European feeling. It's a great place to bring locals and out of town guests.

I used to live a couple of blocks away from Lemon Grass and it quickly became our favorite spot. It's a charming, cozy little place across from Seattle U. They have a long list of things on the menu but I tried the noodle bowl the first time I went it and haven't been able to talk myself into anything else since. The bowls are so tasty, fresh, just the right amount of food, and I think they're like $4 or $5 bucks or something ridiculous like that. Highly recommended.

We recently completed the process of buying our first home. Leading up to taking this step we wanted to keep an eye on the market to familiarize ourselves with what to expect. By signing up for Heather's eNewsletter at Urban Living Seattle (http://www.urbanlivingseattle.com), we received daily MLS listings.
When it came time to go forward, she spent lots of quality time with us, helping educate us every steps of the way. She quickly understood exactly what we were interested in and was constantly hunting for our perfect match. Since this was our first buy, I don't have anyone to compare her to, but I can say she was a pleasure to work with and made the stressful and overwhelming process a fun and successful process.
Thanks Heather!

American Music Rentals Production Service is a great option for sound system rentals in the Seattle area. They have a nice selection of packages that include microphones, speakers, amps, mixers; everything needed for most events, including weddings, parties, conferences, and concerts. They also have technicians (sound guys) for hire that can help setup and run the equipment. Delivery is also available. Prices may seem high but they are reasonable and competitive with the other options in town (not many worth mentioning).
