There is also a daily box of free books placed outside the store. It's worth a look to get a book!

The friendly staff will help you find an activity for your child and there is quite a range. From learning about space and light to playing in a gigantic doll house to learning how water works, your child will learn and enjoy themselves immensely. Admission is also very low.

They also are an excellent maker of bouquets and have been in the businesses a long time; they know their stuff! The American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE for short) is an all time favorite for children and anyone who has a love for gizmos. The admission is very cheap and they run many interesting shows, of which, the most well known is "Atom Smasher" and electrifying experience where your hair will stand on end. Sound intriguing? You'll have to check it out. You can also learn about Oak Ridge's past in their extensive wartime exhibit or discover physics in the upper room. Overall it is a great place to kill a few hours.

While Martin funeral home does boast a long history of being in the business I cannot personally say their accommodations are extremely good. In my experience they worked slowly and did not seem to care much for how I felt things should be handled for the funeral. However, they are friendly in most respects and their prices are fairly affordable. Perhaps my bad experience was imply a matter of my taste and was an isolated incident.

If you’re looking in pizza in Oak Ridge, you owe it to yourself to eat at Big Ed’s. After all, it’s a tradition in the town! The restaurant is a fairly dimly lit small place that’s often smoky but the pizza is divine. All the dough is made fresh daily and your pizza will come to you piping hot and fresh. There’s no such thing as a non-custom order at Big Ed’s and that is half the fun of it. Often times you’ll see little league teams celebration a victory there or book clubs stopping off for lunch but rest assured, it’s the best pizza in town.
It's also worth mentioning that they are major sponsors of youth activities so when you support Big Ed's you support all sorts of programs for the youth in Oak Ridge.

The bagels are made fresh daily and they are delicious and never dried out. You can pick from many bagel sandwiches ranging from the typical sausage, egg, and ham selections to a tomato and cheese variety great for vegetarians and those with little cash to spend. The service is fast and there is a case of soft drinks and juices if you don’t happen to be in the mood for coffee with your meal. The owner is friendly and works right behind the counter and the restaurant is a cozy place to eat your breakfast and start your day.
You can also pick up pastries, quiches, and sandwiches. It’s a great stop anytime of the day.
