I joined this gym because it is so close to my office. However, other than the location it doesn't have a lot going for it. The space is very small, so the equipment is really crammed in tightly. There is always a line to use the most popular pieces - treadmill, etc. The locker room is dingy at best. The worst part about this gym is that, as your membership gets close to the expiration date, you will get phone calls on a daily basis encouraging you to renew. I got calls at home, at work - it was a little much. All in all, if you work close by, it gets the job done. Otherwise, I can't recommend it.

Spa Scotta is the perfect place for a little light pampering on a budget. This spa does not have all of the frills of the larger day spas - no "relaxation room" and the changing and shower facilities are basically the restrooms used by all customers. However, the service is good and the prices are reasonable. I have never had a bad experience here. In addition to spa services, Spa Scotta has great products, they carry Bed Head PJ's and other fun goodies. Best of all, parking is a snap in the attached parking garage. Enjoy!

Inspa is not the place to go if you are really looking for pampering. It has kind of an assembly line feel. The prices are very reasonable and the no tipping policy is great for clients, but probably does not draw the best clinicians. I have had several services here, waxing, manicures and pedicures, and each was "okay", but not great. If you are looking for pure maintenance - must wax that unibrow or else - Inspa serves its purposes. However, if you are looking for a true "spa experience", look elsewhere.

I have been getting my hair cut at Caruh for years. I started going there because it was so close to home, but even now that we have moved out of the neighborhood, I keep going back. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I love the fact that they are an Aveda salon - love their products. On the downside, apparently everyone else loves Caruh as much as I do. Everyone there books up very quickly. I make an appointment for a haircut months in advance and color is even worse. Also, they recently raised their prices, making a haircut about $45-50. However, it is worth the wait and the cost!

This is one of my favorite spas in Seattle. The staff is great - super friendly and very knowledgeable. The relaxation room looks out on the treetops below and you can completely forget that you are in downtown Seattle. I have never felt rushed and the services - from massage to facials - are always perfect. You haven't had a pedicure until you have had one at Ummelina! When you are ready for a little pampering - this is the place to go.

I have been to the downtown Gene Juarez more than one for a haircut. Apparently I am a slow learner. I have never had a good haircut at this salon. I have tried several stylists, each one seems deaf to what I tell her I want done to my hair. Shoulder length does not mean cut up to my chin! Not only are the haircuts poor, but the prices are high and parking is expensive and challenging. My advise, skip Gene Juarez!
