I see Burger Heavens all over midtown, so one day I had to try it out. I knew it would be a little pricey (hello - it's midtown) but was a little taken aback to find out that a burger would cost around $7 with Nothing on It! I convinced my waiter to throw some lettuce and onions on for no extra charge and it was a pretty good burger, and the milkshake I got to go with it was delicious. I'm not a huge fan of spending $15 on lunch but that's pretty standard for lunch in midtown at a place where you can sit down and be served as opposed to squeezing into bodegas and negotiating through very crowded lines.

This gourmet rice pudding place is immaculately decorated. Everything is steamlined, clean, and high-tech. It's a small place but never feels cramped. They've got every flavor of rice pudding you can think of, from cheesecake (my personal favorite) to rocky road and french toast flavored. The pricing is just as streamlined as the decor - $5 a bowl with similar nice round numbers for bigger sizes. Definitely worth a trip downtown to check out, even if you're not a huge rice pudding fan because it's a fun place.

Sea Life Park is a little expensive for a park you can see all of in about 20 minutes, but you cannot beat the scenery and atmosphere. They have huge turtles and sting rays up close (snuba options) and some well-trained dolphins to enjoy. You can swim with them, which I did and it was fun although I wished I do more with them than just a couple things (kisses, riding their bellies). I did enjoy learning how to make them jump.

Definitely a must stop on the big island of Hawaii - Volcano House was a real treat when we were on a tour of the big island. The buffet was delicious with something for everyone - moist beef, chicken and fish. Right outside the dining room is a wonderful view of Hawaii's amazing volcanoes. The buffet is amazing well priced and gift shop has a wide selection of fun items to take home.

I recently took a cruise on the Pride of Aloha, of Norwegian Cruise Lines, for a Hawaiian island hopping trip. Hawaii was great, but I couldn't get excited about the Pride of Aloha's food on board! As we all know, food is a big part of a cruise! A lot of it tasted rubbery and bland. The boat was really nice, the accomodations comfortable and the activities fun, but next time I'll check around to see where the really good food is!

When you're in the mood for a Philly cheese steak (or chicken!) sandwich, this is a great place to come. The service is quick, the cheese melted just right and the bread is warm but not soggy. I probably should have skipped the fries with cheese whiz on top which made me feel a little queezy (as cheese whiz will do...) but overall a good sized sandwich and great location when you get that philly cheese sandwich craving.

The atmosphere at the Shake Shack can't be beat - that is undeniable! There is nothing like hanging out in this park with some friends on a cool summer day and having some burgers and shakes. But... I'm not sure the huge hype is really worth standing in line for an hour and a half like I did! We were with friends, so the time flew, but maybe after that long of a time you're really expecting something amazing. The burgers were good, but I was disappointed with the shake I got. Maybe it was the day, but I paid $5 for a huge cup of chocolate milk it seemed like. Tasty chocolate milk... but shakes should really have a thicker, creamier consistancy in my opinion especially if they cost that much. If you want a burger comparable to In-and-Out's - try Blue 9 on 14th.

Guacamole is made right in front of you, custom to your taste at this great find on the upper west side. It has a lively atmosphere with a live mariachi band, a wide variety of unique Mexican entrees (try the salmon chimichangas!) The service is a little slow but worth the wait and the price is a little high for Mexican food than I'm used to but overall a good experience and one I'd recommend. Get there early on weekends because it can be a long wait - this place is popular with the college crowd.

I really had no idea where to go to get an odd-sized picture framed... so I ran into this store outside the Manhattan Mall (great location). I had a simple job requiring a plain black frame and he said he could do it in 30 minutes so I dropped it off, went to the mall and came back and it was done which was perfect. The price wasn't rock bottom but was comparable to what I'd seen on the internet - and you can't beat a 30 minute wait! It looked great and he wrapped it well so I could haul it home on the train.

I was really nervous to get my eyebrows threaded, but was determined to try it and Perfect Shape didn't disappoint. I was in and out of there in about 3 minutes - no joke. It was super fast, virtually painless (felt more like a little tickle sensation) and very cheap as well. The location was great - near my work so I just stopped off afterward. The people were friendly and told me about the 10% coupon on citysearch.com. I'll definitely be back!
