We stayed one night here while visiting Philly. We chose this place because we got a discount through Expedia.com (spent $70 for the night)... parking costs $25 during your stay, but Philly is pretty easy to move around on foot. The hotel is near the big roundabout with the fountain, so it's close to the Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences, etc. During our stay, they were renovating the gym and pool area, so it smelled of paint. Our rooms were pretty nice. I wish they'd have free hi-speed internet though -- they wanted to charge $10 for it.

Nice atmosphere in a kind of sketchy neighborhood… Definitely check both places out to compare for yourself!

Went here on my trip to Philly -- compared it with Geno's. Though both were good and similarly priced (about $6.50 per cheesesteak), I liked Pat's better. I went there on a weekday at around 5pm and the neighborhood was kind of sketchy (about 3 homeless guys asked me for money) but I guess that adds to the authentic feel? Haha. Definetely check this place out for an authentic cheesesteak, and try Geno's across the street!

When I went there, they had an awesome frog exhibit -- although it was a bit muggy and humid in there. They also had a live animal show with an opossum, skunk, and a few other critters. My brother’s favorite section was the dinosaurs – they could pretend they were archaeologists and uncover dinosaur bones!

I went here while visiting Philly to check out UPenn. I was torn between going to the Franklin Institute or touring the historical district -- and boy was I glad to have chosen the first! They have great hands-on exhibits that teach about electricity, bloodflow, etc. What TRULY amazed me was the limited time Body Worlds exhibit. (It's there till April 23rd, 2006, so catch it if you can!)

I'm currently in the Student Banking package. CCB is really convenient because it has many branches as well as ATMS in malls, grocery stores, etc. Their Online Banking is wonderful as well – a great way to keep track of your account without going to the bank. Though the lines can sometimes be long, I always receive courteous service.

Starbucks is quite an expensive addiction. I love their Marbled Mocha Macchiato (kind of a tongue twister)... and the Germantown Starbucks seems to make it the best! My other favorites are the Mocha Frappachino and anything with hazelnut in it! This Starbucks is conveniently located to all of the huge Milestone stores such as Target, Walmart, and Best Buy.

I go to Best Buy for all of my electronic needs. They have great sales that you can check out in the Washington Post ads. Recently, we bought a widescreen from there, along with a TV stand. Also, their Reward Zone program is great if you shop there often. I’ve already received $25 in coupons through the program.

This is the closest mall to my house, so I go here most often. Major department stores include Hecht’s, JcPenney’s, Sears, and Lord & Taylor. Other stores include Victoria’s Secret, Hot Topic, Express, Hollister, American Eagle, and a Starbucks. The food court is pretty good – you’ve the Panda Express, Subway, McDonalds, and more. Compared to malls like Montgomery and White Flint, this mall doesn’t seem up to par unfortunately.
