I was looking for some party favors for my son's birthday and figured I would just stop by Dollar Tree just to see. This place was about half the quality and cleanliness of a Kmart or Walmart and really scary. They had a lot of fake brand names and everything was $1 but nothing was worth buying. It's a shame because the outside looks okay.

I ordered a fruit arrangement for a friend from this store recently. The ordering and picking up was very easy. The staff member who was there was helpful and I didn't have to wait at all. The arrangement wasn't as dramatic as I might have liked, but my friend liked it and said the fruit was very sweet. So I'd definitely recommend it for a different type of gift.

I wanted to try out The Bead Shop because I've only been to one other bead store, but I wasn't excited. Most of their beads seemed expensive (probably they just chose higher quality beads, but there were no more inexpensive options). They didn't have the supplies I was looking for, so I ended up just walking out. Luckily it's not my local Bead Store, so I don't have to go back.

We did this last year, where you take the kids who are dressed up to the local mall and they go trick or treating at the stores. The kids loved it and it was in a safe environment inside and ended early. I will definitely be doing this again this year since it went so well last year. The Lego store even gave out Halloween legos!

This doctor has the worst bedside manner ever!!! She made me cry twice! (And I am pretty stoic.) I was recommended to her by a friend and made an appt. After waiting 1 month, I got there and it turned out they had made me an appt. for her office mate. They then told me I couldn't see the office mate instead, I had to wait _another month_ for an appt. with Dr. Augustyn. The receptionist told me when she called she had said she was calling for the other doctor, and apparently it was my fault I didn't notice their mistake.
Then I see Dr. Augustyn and her nurse tells me I have lost 5 inches in height. Dr. Augustyn did recheck and they both said I lost 5 inches in height. When I asked if that sounded normal to her, she said "I don't know I've never seen you before" and "Some people feel like they're too tall.", like that was supposed to make me feel better.
I stupidly went back for a second appointment and she was obnoxious again about my records and how little she could do for me since I was a new patient. This was the second time she made me cry -- apparently I made the appointment too soon and she wasn't able to get me in for any tests yet but instead of just saying that she was really rude about how she "didn't know me" or "hadn't seen me before". She is the worst doctor I have met, and I've seen quite a few.

When I moved back to SF in 1994, I loved the Front Room's pizza. It was really deep dish and pretty close to Chicago style pizza (not really as buttery as Pizzeria Uno, though). They have great locations but I'm not sure if the pizza is still up to the level it was then. It's worth checking out.

I love Round Table Pizza and really missed it when I was in Maryland (talk about bad pizza -- they have nothing good there). I like their deep dish the best. It's not buttery or flaky like some deep dish pizzas and the sauce is really good. Of course I think "great pizza" is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like really thin pizza, and some like it more pie-like with the buttery and flaky crust. Personally, I like Round Table and think it's the best in the Bay Area (maybe the country) for thick crust pizza.

Celtic Movers did a great job and were fast. They can pack your whole house for you, but it is much faster (and therefore cheaper) if you have everything packed first before they come.

I like to shop at Costco when I can (the crowds can be overwhelming, however). I don't know about their organic food selection, but they have enough non-food items that it is worth the trip. I like to buy baby wipes (their brand is great) and other non-perishables there. I also like that they treat their employees fairly (unlike WalMart) and have so many deals for their customers.

Little Cousins is one of two baby-related consignment stores that are connected. The location on 25th avenue is pretty convenient. They have a good selection of kids clothes, new toys, used strollers and other kid related things. The new toys are a bit expensive, but if you find something used it is in good condition and a pretty good price.
