This pet store just opened Aug of 2004 on Ridgewood Avenue. We have gone in to visit the puppies several times and everyone has always been so nice. They only sell dogs and they sure do have a large selection. They offer grooming and we made an appointment to bring our older dog in. After I dropped her off they called even before I made it back home. They said she was too nervous and snippy to groom. They do the grooming in an open loft above the store. I guess with all the people and barking puppies it agitated our dog. I wish they had a different set-up. It would convenient to have her groomed there.

Panico is a large full service salon right in the middle of Ridgewood Avenue. I have never had to wait long for an appointment and they get you right in when you arrive. The spa treatments are a great idea for a last minute gift for the person who has everything else. They also have a lot of product too. It all can get expensive, but they do such a good job, it's worth it.

Run, don't walk to Cosi! I could have lunch and dinner there everyday for a month and still not get sick of it. The bread is so, so good. The salads are made fresh in front of you so you can customize it to your liking. Watch out they do get quite busy during lunchtime so prepare for a wait. Once you get your food you will realize it is worth standing in line for. Try the chicken, tomato, basil and mozzarella sandwich, it's my favorite.

We recently stayed at Kyes while in Maine on vacation. It was a holiday weekend so they were quite busy yet we still received great service. The rooms are clean and quiet. The pool was really nice too. They even had a nice portable crib for our baby to sleep in. It is a motel so it is not as plush as a Marriott, just make sure to bring your own shampoo! One other thing that surprised us is there are no phones in the room. We were able to get cell phone service.

We have been going here for years. They recently added a third vet, so obviously they are doing something right as their clientรจle is growing. The building and grounds are beautiful. The cozy, homelike interior helps calm nervous animals and their owners. It does not have that sterile hospital feel. We like Dr. Becker the best, but the other two vet s are good too as are all the techs. The office staff are great, they really make you feel welcome. The only drawbacks are the wait and the price. They are probably average in cost, it is just pet care is so expensive.

Just Cats is a great concept. A veterinary clinic that focuses on you guessed it...just cats. The staff is great, very friendly and caring. They can get you in quick if you have an emergency and best of all are really reasonable. Pet vet bills can be so expensive, but they are affordable. They often have cats/kittens for adoption too.

The Center For Fitness is located in the YMCA/YWCA building. The CFF membership includes the membership to both Y's. so you can use almost the entire facility including the pools. The gym has all the equipment you need, with nice locker rooms, towels, a whirlpool and sauna. Everyone is really friendly it is not intimidating at all. They offer free childcare and a bunch of classes are included. It's a great value too. It is not flashy (no t.Y's) but it has everything you need to get in shape. Check it out!

I recently went to a wedding that where they did the flowers and it was all so amazing. They are pricey, but worth it! It is a little tricky getting in and out of the parking lot because of the location-that would be their only downfall.

The best thing about this family owned business in Albany besides the huge selection and great prices is the very friendly and helpful staff. They carry all the mainstream, popular brands and gear, but also more unique stuff too. They have some high end clothes, perfect for special occasions. One thing I don't understand is why they are not open on Sundays. It seems like it would be a popular family shopping day and they must miss out on business. Also it is a lot of work to register there. You have to go around and write down the skus. Using a scanner at Target was much easier and a lot more fun.
