My family has always used Freeman's for birthday cakes and other baked goods. They by far have the best quality products and the best prices in Florence! The cake decorator (Jamie?) has always been fabulous at creating unique and fun cakes! They always have a huge selection of premade but fresh baked fresh goods ready to buy, and samples of their goodies for you to try.

I must brag about this shop! The deal they gave us is worth working with them from two states away. They were able to provide the tuxes we wanted, with the exact colors we wanted and needed, for the bargain price of $64 each, with the groom's being free! So far the service has been stellar, and I hope it stays that way until my wedding!

The store is large and very well laid out. They have a huge selection in all price ranges. The sales woman stayed as close as humanly possible while I was trying on the gowns (what was I going to do? stow away a big fluffy gown in my diaper bag??). That made me felt uneasy discussing the gowns with my 'buying party'.

I found the best wedding gown here, so I may be a little biased. There were no pushy salespeople, only an offer to assist if and when we needed it. After trying on a few more no-go's, I found the most fabulous gown for $800! I spoke with the lady who does the buying and she said that gown usually retails for over $2,000, but they were able to get a deal on it because it was the last one of that collection left. Usually I snub those "sales pitches", but after deciding to come home to Richmond to look, I could not find a single gown of this caliber for even three times the amount! There were no pushes to buy the accessories such as shoes or veil. The alterations were down in less than a month (only needed length taken off), and they are able to get the bridesmaid's dresses done in less than three months, even though they have to be made!
They really understand the bride-to-be!

When I finally decided to make our bedroom a luxury suite I went to Roomers Interiors. They have a wide variety of upscale items for your home, both custom-made and ready to buy. I am in love with the bedding we ended up with, and though it was pretty expensive, it was worth every cent! I wouldn’t buy from there for every household item, but for those where quality really counts (who wants to sleep on scratchy sheets??) I definitely recommend here. The service was impeccable. They also do designing.

For work clothes while pregnant this place is the best! They have a great selection of high end designers, but with their great sales they are affordable. They offer much better business-wear than would be found at the mall maternity stores, though it’s still a good idea to go there for the basics.
They even offer a child’s play area for little ones to stay occupied while you shop, which is always a gigantic perk with me!

To do the minimum of each activity it would cost around $15 per person, and for us there is only enough to keep us entertained for a couple of hours.

This is a very large farmer’s market in downtown. We visit every Thursday for the Thursday Growers’ Market since it is very kid friendly then. You can buy local organic and regular produce and baked goods, even cheese, plus various other items. Parking is free, which is a rare find downtown. My boys love visiting because they offer activities just for them and they get to listen to live music.

We went to a birthday party here and the older kids had a great time! The instructor was great and explained everything perfectly for little ones to understand. The kids loved painting their own pottery and seeing the finished result as a “real” piece of art. Most guests made “gifts” for the birthday girl which she loved. My sister said it was less expensive for a party than the typical kids’ party places like Chuck E. Cheese. I will definitely return once my boys get old enough to listen and do it.

Powers Aviation, LLC is a general aviation operator. They offer charters, small aircraft rentals, and private pilot instruction. The service staff is always friendly. The flight instructors are very knowledgeable and patient, and are willing to work around your schedule. They don’t offer a lot of the same amenities as other FBOs like a restaurant, but they make up for it in friendliness. They offer a free, huge "pig pickin'" when NASCAR is in town on the day of the race.
