I'm really bad when it comes to computers. I also have a four years old one, that freezes from time to time. I like this place a lot. Once that my computer crashed, they were able to save a lot of valuable files. They also come to your house if you prefer, and the telephone tech service is really very good. And it's not pricey at all.

I don't know if it's the airport fault or the airlines fault, but one out of two times I try to fly from Gainesville, they cancel and reschedule my flight. The services that fly out of here are extremely unreliable, and since it's such a small destination, the planes are old. I never have a fear of flight, but some of these planes freak me out.

Gainesville has the third best public transportation system in the state, I read somewhere. IT's certainly a very good system. It covers almost all throughout the city, they are almost always on schedule, the drivers are really polite and, if you ride them daily, even know you by name. The setbacks are that some routes seem to be always crowded, and that they ran until only 6:00 PM on Saturday, if they run at all. But hey, it;s better than nothing!!!!

I'm not a science lover, but this museum is world class. The butterfly rainforest, in particular, is breathtaking. It costs around 6 dollars to get in in this special exhibition, but it's worth every penny. When my nephew came to visit me, he loved the museum. The explanations are very didactical, and the Florida fossils exhibition is specially attractive to kids.

As with the other company that provides this service, the only problem is that they travel only Thursdays- Sundays, so if you want to do the trip midweek you are going to have to take the Greyhound.

Being a poor student without a car, I've made the trip Gainesville-Miami by Greyhound several times, and it's at least an adventure. It never takes less than 10 hours. This services, on the contrary, only takes 6 hours, with almost no stop. The people who travel are students, so you don't get weirdos sitting next to you. The buses are neat and clean, and the driver is very responsible.

I hate this company. Every time you call them, they will tell you they'll have a cab in 10-20 minutes. 50% of the time, it will be half an hour and no signs of the cab. If you call them again to complain, they say that the cab is stuck in the traffic, and it will come soon. If you dare to call again, then they are just plain rude to you, saying that calling them won't solve anything and that I better wait patiently. There are many companies in Gainesville, so don't call this one.

As an instructor at UF, I've had many student who've done their AA at Santa Fe and then transfered to UF, and I have to say I'm very impressed with their quality. For the conversations I've had with them, my impression from this institution is that they have smaller classes and can focus better on each individual student and their needs. Being in the same town as UF means that their professors are also UF graduates, so their level is also very high.

This library is certainly amazing for a town of this size. Not only do they have an impressive collection of books and magazines, but also CDs and DVDs, for example. The also have special programs: from different film series that run almost every month, to volunteers to help kids and adults with learning disabilities with their homeworks. This library is part of what makes Gainesville such a special town to live in.

This restaurant is great. It has great entrées for very reasonable values: the pesto chicken pasta, for around 10 dollars, and the salmon, for about 12, are delicious. They also have a very decent selection of wine, and excellent sandwiches, in the 6 - 8 dollars range. The place is small, so you may have to wait to get a table, but it's certainly worth it. The menu is as good as the one from 706's, which is owned by the same person, and certainly cheaper.
