Xtreme Play and adults.... 1/29/2009

I am not sure what day this person was in Extreme Play and there were adults on the equipment, but I would like to state the following: I was in Extreme Play about two weeks ago, and there were adults getting on the equipment. The manager, I guess, announced several times on the PA system that adults were not allowed on the equipment, and then went and spoke to those adults personally. As a parent, I appreciated the fact that she stayed persistant with the rules. There are those kind of folks who just do not realize the danger of bigger bodies being on inflatable equipment with smaller bodies. I would also like to state that I took my little one morning, a weekday, and there were older children, high school age, playing on the equipment. These children were developmentally delayed, most were down-syndrome. My child was frightened at first, but I assured her that everything was going to be okay. These children were having the time of their life. I spoke to one of their teachers briefly, and she explained that these children cannot interact at school in a regular physical education class. The owner had allowed the entire school system to bring certain classes to Extreme Play every day that week to play. She went on to say that this was the best field trip her kids had ever had. Every one is not the same, and this day was a true learning experience for my child and myself. My hat is off to the manager for trying to keep the place safe, and to the owner, for allowing these children mentioned previously to have the opportunity to play. We are definitely going back! more
