This carpet and floor store is pretty good and the prices are generally reasonable. I would shop around though since there are a few other carpet and floor stores down the street. The carpet selection is not bad, but if you are looking for a specific color, you probably should shop around. Overall, this is a good place. The workers are very polite and they take the time to understand your needs. The selection of carpets and flooring is great, although I would check around to other stores if you do not find what you are looking for.

The Third Day is a great florist and plant shop. This place is located in Dupont Circle, on P Street and 20th street. The store has a great selection of plans and flowers, often carrying some harder to find specimens. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The store provides great service. It's a nice place to browse and perhaps get a housewarming gift.

This place is awesome. If you are looking to sign up for classes in arts or crafts, you should definitely check this place out. It is located in Laurel, so you might have to drive a bit depending on where you live, but if you are serious about art, I'd check this place out. The pottery classes are especially fun. You also can get extra studio time. I've also seen the paper making classes. I don't know if they still have them, but if they do, I recommend you check it out.

Penn Camera is a great photography store. The staff really know their stuff when it comes to developing, camera equipment, etc. The prices are definitely on the high end, but the quality of photos is great. The staff know a lot about the latest digital cameras, SLRs, new lenses, and just about anything else you would want to know about photography. It's a great place to get old photos restored too.

Politics and Prose is a great bookstore in DC. It's got a great staff who know a ton about books. The store is located on Connecticut Ave near the intersection of Nebraska and Connecticut. The store has a small cafe downstairs where you can get pastries, coffee, teas, etc. The bookstore often has events where a famous author speaks about his or her new book. I highly recommend visiting this bookstore.

Imagination Stage is an amazing place. This is one of the largest performing arts school for young people in the area. They have classes on a lot of different areas, dance, theater, musical theater, digital media, film making, etc. And classes are for all ages. You can register on line at www.imaginationstage.org. This is an excellent resource and place to bring your children and get them exposed to theater and the preforming arts.
The staff is extremely dedicated, talented, and they love teaching young people.

This restaurant/cafe/bar is a great place to relax and listen to music. The bar area is small and cozy and they often have a small band playing in the corner. The service and beer selection are good. They don't have a lot of choices on beer, but it's still a great place to relax with friends. Everyone was really great there. They also have some desserts. Dinner at this place is good too, but I haven't been in a long time. Some of my friends have said they have great food though. I definitely recommend checking this place out on the weekends if you're looking for a place to lounge and listen to music.
