The Seneca Park Zoo has come a long way from my first visit 10 years ago, but for a city of this size, it need to be larger. Don't get me wrong, it's a good zoo, with lots of nice exhibits, but compared to Erie (PA) it seems very small.
The Zoo does a great job of getting in "touring" exhibits, such as the black bears (which if you haven't seen, go check them out - they are pretty cool) and the warthogs (from last year). Their newest exhibit with the Mountain lions, seems to be catered to the kids with the new "up close and personal" viewing area they have (they now have a periscope kind of thing working for them).
Your best bet, if you plan on going more then once, is to buy the family membership, since after two visits, it is paid for. The member ship allows you to be invited to a lot of "members only" type of events.

SeaBreeze has been around for almost 100 years in some form or another. They always have some sort of new ride every year or some new event working. This year it is both! The new roller coaster is pretty cool and the line is never long enough that you have to wait much.
On the other side you have a fabulous waterpark with something for just about everyone. Big ones or little ones. My personal favorite is the "lazy river" type of ride that just goes in a big circle allowing to get all the sunburn you could want and more!

This is one of the best children's museum I have ever been to. Simply stated. They have great exhibits, the staff is wonderful and they know how to help you watch your children to make sure your visit is uneventful and educational.
I recently particpated in a study at the museum and got a sneak peak on the what the expansion is going to look like. Is it possible to make a place even better when you think it is already awsome? The storybook land exhibit is going to knock socks off of everyone who sees it. They also have a "butterfly pod" exhibit which will give kids a close up at one of my favorite insects.
Buy the membership. Go 3 times. It's paid for. Your kids will love it and you'll find yourself having a good time as well.

I heard about these folks while I was listening to Howard Stern. I decided to give them a try and was not disappointed. First of all, $9.99 for a haircut is always a value considering how some "salons" can gouge guys for haircuts (not all us go to barbers). They were fast and good, unlike one of their main competitors (national chain - you know who I'm talking about) they listen to you and help make you look good.
As far as wait times, I've never had to wait more then 10 minutes. Walk-ins are not just welcomed, they are encouraged. Strange, but true just stop by and they'll take care of you.
Great value!

Some of the widest selection of hard to find Tomayo plastic models (they're Japanese and really detailed) is what I love going their for. The guys and gals working the counters know their inventory and won't hesitate to order something for you (pre-paid of course).
Paints, brushes and all sorts of little goodies that can help put the finishing touches on your project can also be found here. They have an outstanding collection of Testor's paints (my preference for models).

Truly, truly a Rochester dining icon! Nick Tahoe's has been around forever as I know it. When I first arrived in Rochester, my co-worker's had a once a month tradition of visting Nick's for Garbage plate.
What was I thinking with this? Everything piled in the middle? Cheeseburger, fries, mac salad, and what kind of hot sauce is that? Just grab the Red Hot dump away, then close your eyes and enjoy the edible fiesta. Gross? Oh yeah, but really, really good.
There are lots of imitators around town but there is only one (actually 2 locations) Nick Tahoe's. Someday, I'll work up the nerve to try a breakfast garbage plate.

I recently bought a used Chevrolet Venture from these folks. I have no complaints, but from the start they seemed very professional about it. Later on I realized what a joke their "Tires for Life" plan was.
Come to find out, you have to have your oil changes done there to stay in the warranty ($35) and every 2 oil changes you have to have your tires rotated ($55) so that you're wearing the tires evenly. Nice thought, but by the time I get my next set of tires, I bet my van will be 2 years old.
Maybe I should have gone to the other place for the "oil changes for life" program.
Also the salesman who sold me my vehicle left the company right after I signed the loan. So now I don't have a "friend" their.

How often do you think about your garbage? When I moved into my home, it was a big decision, until I started looking around. Waste Management was the only service where someone actually talked to me about what I needed and how much it cost. They were also extremely competitive with the local businesses. Every time I've dealt with them on the phone, it has been courteous and professional.
They pick up everything and even sort my co-mingles when I forget too. Worth every penny!

This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. They are fast and friendly! They specialize in a niche menu that is a fusion between Chinese, Japanese and Korean. This means you can find soup, soup with big noodles, and rice bowls.
Like spicy? They have it in spades! Don't get me wrong, only a couple of dishes are hot, but WHOAH they can be tongue tinglers with the right addition of extra hot sauce.
Vegatarian? No problem thier either! All of thier dishes have choices of what kind of meat or Tofu you would prefer.
Try the Thai Spicy Basil with a Thia Iced Tea to wash it down. Heaven on Earth!

First of all, when dining here, plan on forgetting everything you ever thought you knew about Mexican food. Ricky (the owner) used to run several resort restaurants before moving to Rochester. Now that he is here, he will show you what good food is all about.
By no means is this Tex-Mex. This is straight Mexican cusine with strong flavors and bold flair. From the homemade Mole' (yeah made with real cocoa) and tortillas, to the delicious Pastore' (a mix of bbq pork and pineapple) you will find nothing like in around here. Always worth the travel since he is located in Spenceport.
Even though the flavor is big, his current place is kind of small, so he is working on getting it enlarged.
