In my opinion, don't go. You have a long walk to get there first of all. And once you get there it is definately not worth it. The food is so over priced that I didn't end up buying any at all. They do have live music playing everyday and fireworks at night. They do offer a wide variety of food to try out though. But most of it can also be found at the State Fair which I would prefer.

Historic Fort Snelling was built in 1827. When you go inside you will meet soldiers and traders. You can have fun exploring the fort's towers and massive stone walls. You can join in military drills and watch the cannon fire. Fort Snelling has a gift shop and extensive exhibits. I feel Fort Snelling is enjoyed more by adults and not children so much.

Scary Halloween fun. The trail of terror has a freaky haunted house which is also a maze. Guaranteed to give you a scare. At the end of the house is a little dance called club scream to have some fun. There is food, contests and prizes in gere as well. They have a haunted hayride where you sit back and get scared. The line for this is usually really long. Also there is a bonfire to warm up at and a freaky side show to get even more scared. This place is not for little kids.

Gibbs Museum is a museum of pioneer and dakotah life. It is a good place to take the kids to learn about this type of lifestyle. It features an early Minnesota pioneer family. They dress and act just as they would have in the pioneer days. The museum also features Native American Dakotah culture. There is a one roon school house and a reconstructed pioneer sod house. There is also Dakotah bark lodge and teepees. I especially likes the furnished 19th century farm house. So many things to look at you can never get bored and you learn so much as well.

The Walker offers a wide variety of different types of art. Many pieces are done by local artists. There is so many types of art to see, you never get bored. When you are done inside, take a walk to the Sculpture Garden. Here you can see the famous cherry and spoon sculpture that I always try to point out to mu husband when driving on I-94. The sculptures are all unique and fun to look at.

The Chaska Community center has it all. They have an indoor pool that has a rope swing and waterslide. There is a shallow part for the kids. They have an indoor track so you can run and get some exercise. There is a gymnasium, exercise and weight room, and a stream and sauna room. The whole family can get some exercise here. There is also an ice arena for ice skating. They have an indoor playground to keep the kids busy. And they have virtual gold and a theatre auditorium. if you get hungry they even have a cafe grill. This is by far the best community center I have seen so far.

They offer a small kiddie rink where little kids or those who don't know how to skate can practice. They also have video games and a snack bar. This place also has tennis courts, but they are not always available.
