We've stayed at the Sans Souci a few times on our annual trips to Wildwood and it's just the best motel we've been to. The rooms are big enough, not too expensive, and it's not even a block to the board walk. There's an ice cream shop two doors down. The staff in excellent, helpful and kind. I highly recommend the Sans Souci and all of Wildwood!

The Lamb bookstore is another tradition we have in our family -- we like to keep our minds focused, even while on vacation. So we make it a point to stop in at The Lamb to browse around. It's a small space but for it's size it has a really good selection and fair prices. The real treat is the staff who are talkative, welcoming and helpful.

Yes, even on vacation I seek out used book stores. Hooked on Books has an amazing selection, great prices, a stocked kids section as well as anything else you might like to find. They are open year round and are in a lovely section of Wildwood with a number of antique stores and gift shops.

We have a family tradition of traveling to the shore via the Cape-May Lewes Ferry. It's a great break from driving, pretty reasonable prices to get across and it's not far at all from the ferry landing to the areas people go to vacation.
I think riding on the ferry makes the trip that much more enjoyable for our kids as well, and it helps them to gear up for a great time as well as leave vacation with a bang.

The Cape May lighthouse is on a beautiful historic and well preserved strip of beach. While it's a pretty long walk to the top it's not unmanageable -- We walked it last year and one of our then two year olds decided to make it all the way to the top on her own -- that tiny girl deserved a medal! If she can do it then I think just about every one can.
Around the lighthouse are some lovely gardens, a cute little gift shop, a bird watching area and a number of old outposts from WWII.

When we got our little rabbit I needed to find a vet that would take the best care of him. I called every place in the phone book that DIDN'T take small animals and over 90% of them recommended we go to Oxbridge Veterinary Clinic.
He has only been to the vet once to be neutered but I am glad to have done the footwork to find the right vet who understands what is needed with such frail and sweet creatures.

When our older cat was deemed "too old" to be treated by most of the other vets in town the Feline Medical Center was the only place that took us seriously about finding her life to be valuable even though she was old. Had we found them sooner I can't say we'd have prolonged her life, but I do think her life would have been healthier during her last years.
We started looking for a good vet when our cat showed signs of having skin cancer at 15, this was considered too old to treat by her regular vet and by a half dozen other vets (although they were all happy to take a fee to tell us that). We found the Feline Medical Center when she was 17, and they took us seriously and put her on some medications to slow the growth of the tumor. Had we found them earlier her cancer might not have spread so obviously. It made our vain little cat very upset to have this blemish on her coat --
She lived to be 18, 3 years with the cancer that no other vets thought she'd live long enough to treat seriously.
I can't recommend these vets highly enough. They love cats and will take your concerns to heart.

Ellwood Thompsons is located in at the beginning of Cary Street so you can relax and spend your day out after having a real healthy snack or you can drop in for groceries. Rest assured that what you find will be the healthiest available items.

Dogwood Dell isn't the sort of place you go for swings and slides, but it is a great place for a job, a great place for a dog walk, and a perfect area for a picnic. Many city event take place at Dogwood Dell in front of the giant Carillion and it's a lovely welcoming place for a bit of peace and quiet.

My daughter had to look really nice to be a flowergirl in my brother's wedding, and I had cut her hair myself a few month before -- it just wasn't growing out the way it should so I took her for her first Professional haircut and Pigtails and Crewcuts. They fixed her hair just right, and made it the right shape to grow out from (something that was lost on me!)
The price was pretty reasonable, and the atmosphere is super fun. If you go on the weekends you might end up waiting a while but during the week there's little to no wait -- there are chairs shaped like cars, a kid friendly movie playing to keep their attention and a play area for while you wait and for siblings to keep busy. Great place to go for a kids haircut!
