Maybe I'm just sheltered but I really don't see a lot of coffee houses around here besides the Starbucks monopoly. So when I came across the Bean Scene when I had to come here for a belly dancing event I was pleasantly surprised.
This is a pretty cool cafe. They do a lot of events here. Poetry reading, whatnot. I've only been here once for the belly dancing and it was a great experience.
Besides, I much prefer their beverages than the generic Starbucks ones.

This is the nearest Pho place from boyfriend's house. He's obsessed with Pho. And Rooster Sauce. Even though they give him an upset stomach.
This Pho house is a lot cleaner and "fancier" than a lot of other ones around here. And by fancier I mean gaudy neon trimming and plastic hanging plants everywhere.
Anyway, that's not the important part. Nobody pays attention to the decor at a Pho house. The pho is good. I like the meatball ones.

This by no means is a fancy hair salon or tips and toes place. Just a corner salon where you can get a haircut cheap and fast. My brother and dad always their their haircut here. Since men have to keep their hair trimmed while I can just let it grow long for months.
The servive is decent enough. We get in and out pretty quickly. The haircut people do a fine job in men's haircuts. But me and my mom have never gotten out hair cut there.

She quite liked it while she was there. This studio is good for beginners. They offer beginner's lessons, and a bunch of other stuff. Michelle changed studios only because she was beyond that now.

I mean, I'm sure I'm not their targeted customers. Being that I'm not 40+ in age. So I really shouldn't have a say in anything.

Never really checked out the other sections. But it's definately lacking in the aforementioned areas.

This is my local beauty supply store. It's like Sally's Beauty Supplies. Great Place to buy Salon-only hair products and hard to find cosmetic lines.
There's also the salon part in the back. They do hair cuts, coloring, perms. All your standard hair salon stuff. They also have a manicurist.
I've never actually patroned the salon part, gotten my hair or nails done or anything. But I've gotten some hair products there.
Fairly descent.

What really draws my attention to this flower shop besides the fact that it's next to Togo's and House of Bagels and I go there all the time for lunch, is that they have a adorable cart of fresh flowers in front of the store everyday.
I think the flowers are changed daily or something. Because they're always fresh and pretty.
I've never actually bought anything there but have came across the owner (or maybe clerk?) a few times. She's so cute and friendly. Always greets us when we're just grabbing lunch next door or something.

This is where my boyfriend got flowers for both our moms for mother's day. This also happens to be his friend Tammy's flower shop. Across the street from Border's book shop.
The flowers were gorgeous and wrapped beautifully. My mom got yellow tulips and was very impressed (thank god).
And my boyfriend's mom and aunt got some roses. I saw the flowers and I have to admit they were all flawless and wrapped beautifully.
I'll definately shop there if I ever needed to buy flowers myself.
