If you own an Apple computer, I recommend First Tech! We had a hard repair and Apple refused to cover it under our warrenty even though it was half their fault. To fix it would have been $1000. We brought it to First Tech and the repair man called on our behalf and convinced Apple to fix it for us for free!! Wonderful, wonderful service.

But the staff was nice. I would use them if they are close to you, but don't go out of your way to use them.

Vital Vinyl has a DJ record selection second to none, and now that Let It Be is no longer in existence, it's the only place to get DJ vinyl in Minneapolis. They offer the hottest domestic and UK releases and a fair price. With six turntables, there's no waiting to preview your potential buys. They also offer the best in DJ gear minus the turntables, but rumor has it that they are moving into the what is now Army surplus coming this fall. Not only will it provide more room from what is now a cramped store, but the store will offer a bigger selection of vinyl, and even bigger selection of DJ gear, and possibly some food and beverages to make your stay even more worth while. Can't make it into the store. Check out their website for full audio clips of new releases and a plethera of forums for discussion, vinyl trade, and show info.

The Podium offers a great selection of top of the line acoustic guitars at a somewhat high price. But factor in a selection that you can't find anywhere else with a staff even friendlier than a longtime neighbor, and you won't feel regretful for paying a little more than what you would have at Guitar Center. For those unwilling to drop at least a grand on an acoustic, be sure to check out the downstairs selection that resembles a more chain-like store selection. They also have the best selection in sheet music and tablature in town. Parking is the only downfall as street parking or pay lot is your only choice. But they validate upon purchase i believe.
