Even adults fear going to the dentist but Dr. Grun makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. He takes the time to answer your questions and concerns and really cares about his patients. He makes the procedures as pain free as possible and is an excellent dentist. I have also received referrals for an excellent periodontist or excellent root canal specialist. Highly recommended.

A great little museum with an impressive marble floating staircase (there is nothing holding the staircase up on one side!). One of the most interesting dioramas is the one of South Street Seaport from when it was really a seaport - you can see how the ships' bows affected the architecture of the street and surrounding buildings in an active port. Several other model ships are on exhibit as well as toys from colonial times and various photographs and prints of our fair city. Rarely crowded - there are the occasional small classes of students who come through the museum.

Constantly undergoing repair or construction, this Episcopal Cathedral is over 110 years old and a massive stone structure with many interesting exhibits inside. It is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. Gorgeous stained glass windows. Poetry wall. Aside from holding worship service in the chapels and doing good works, there are children's workshops on medieval subjects like gargoyles, stained glass, etc. Many tourist buses stop here yet it doesn't seem crowded. Gift shop and tours available.

I have found service in the restaurant to be brusque - they tend to rush you and occasionally throw the plates down with a clatter. I don't expect beautiful table service in this well lit casual restaurant but at times, service borders on rudeness which can ruin your dining experience. Food is excellent so I highly recommend takeout over eat-in.

Excellent very fresh meat and seafood. The butcher will de-bone or prepare the meat to your specifications. Meats are of a much higher quality than the supermarket. Look for the sandwich board display outside the front door for great specials. A bit crowded when its busy as the aisles are narrow. Pastries especially the fruit tarts are excellent. Prices are expensive but worth it for the quality of goods. There is also a very reasonable flower market outside the store.

They have very nice dipping dishes or plates in a set (for herb infused olive oil) as well as cookbooks, bakeware, etc. They even have cooking classes at this location. Nice helpful service. The students are earnest and really eager to learn dentistry. Prices are moderate and quite reasonable. However, it takes a really long time for them to complete the dental work in your mouth - two hours in the dental chair is common. The students have a "real" dentist check their plan and then their work every time. Students can be tentative with probes, drills, giving novacaine, etc. I was told more times than I can count that the topical was not necessary because it only gave psychological relief - who is teaching this dumb philosophy? It would be best if the real dentist who oversees the work was the same one each visit but unfortunately this is not the case. Once, I had a dentist who was very rough and completely unprofessional, causing me more pain than necessary. They also do specialty work - crowns, extractions, etc. but have limited lab time so you might have to wait a long time for the crown to be ready. You pay for what you get and you get what you pay for. If you don't mind letting students practice on you and have a lot of patience, you might want to give this clinic a try.
