LA Fitness is not without its downsides. It's often too crowded, they need a larger weight space and more weights. Also, you cannot have a permanent locker, you have to bring your own lock and use a new locker every time. that being said, it's great for the price (a mere $35 per month). They have a pool which is usually open for lapswimming (or there's a brief wait), a big hot tub that can fit like 50 people, and great yoga classes!

If you don't want to spend a ton of loot on a haircut, but are looking for some more style than fantastic sam's can provide, the buzz stop is for you. All their stylists have a real flair for hair, and they are usually pretty nice to the customers. I haven't been there in a while, because I got this free gift certificate for a haircut somewhere else, and I'm not one of those people who gets their hair cut all the time. but I could conceivably see myself going back there someday.

I know this one guy who goes there like 4 times a week. Kid you not. Of course, he lives around the corner. But he still loves it. They know him by name there. The taco salad is delicious as well.

LACMA is an awesome way to spend a day. They have a very interesting and eclectic collection, and they always have cool exhibits. It is a collection of several building situated on a pleasant campus, with a nice cafe to grab some dessert or a refreshing beverage. I was just there on Saturday.

Also, I believe that they have wireless internet, although it doesn't feel pretentious like you would expect a place that has wifi to feel.
