I teach children as young as 18 months old to at minimum be able to fall into the deep side of a pool and then orient themself to a side they can get out from and swim to that side to SAVE THEMSELF as a conditioned response. That is a response that is the primary reaction to falling into a pool. I Then will train a parent to teach any swim stroke they know how to do to their child.
