This establishment is a chain with 4 other locations around the city. It specializes in baked goods and breakfast foods.
I stopped off here looking for breakfast food in the wee early mornings after not having seen an establishment in Times Square.
Surprisingly, this place looked very clean and even though it was the beginning of the morning rush, service was very pleasant and accommodating. Breakfasts range from crepes fresh waffles to your regular egg and cheese on a roll. The bagels are chewy and soft and the coffee is strong and flavorful (reminded me of starbucks)
The best of all was the moderate prices for decent food that was freshly prepared.
I would recommend you to stop by one day. It may be out of the way out on 9th but I think its worth the few blocks walk.

Especially on Thursday nights when it's adults night where they serve free wine. You get to get tipsy and let the creative juices flow. How about this as a cute first date idea? No "sex in the city" lounge tonight...time to go back...way back, back to the days when little girls held birthday parties at pottery painting studios.
You can choose the pottery that needs to be painted, whether its a mug, votive or dish, etc. Set yourself down with the paintbrushes and colored paints. Now think...and think....and drink and then paint. Whatever you do create, it might not look so good before it is cured. You will have to come back a few days later to pick up your masterpiece which will have been cured in an oven to a lovely shiny glaze. Fabulous!

I am wary of eating oysters at just any old place especially with all the news about contamination and concerns with storage. The raw bar at Blue Water Grill is always fresh and has a delicious assortment of oysters from east to west. At an average of $2 an oyster, this place is moderately priced for a raw bar. The sushi appetizer here is nothing to rave about and is really not their field. The fish entrées can run an average of $28 which is pricey but the fish is good. I could pass on the fish though and just sit downstairs eating oysters, drinking vodka and enjoying the live jazz.
Service was very attentive and pleasant throughout dinner. I enjoyed talking to my waiter who even took the time to explain the different tastes of oysters from different regions.

I bought a vintage coat from Cheap Jack's Vintage Clothing http://www.judysbook.com/members/JWC/posts/2006/8/419662/ which was a fur coat with leather cuffs...but since I altered the coat from a single breast to a double breast, I was in the need of 6 new buttons.
Where do I go?
Where do I go?
I went to M&J Trimming Co. confident they would not disappoint. I could not leave without finding some unique buttons since the selection is so vast...if I cant find it here, then I'll be in trouble. On the wall of buttons: categorized by material, sorted by size and grouped by color...I finally found leather buttons with small metal crest details in the center. Beautifully made buttons that actually looked of vintage quality.
I was ecstatic to find them and doubt I would have found them anywhere else. Aside from a great selection, this store is also well organized and customer service is satisfactory.

Its late and you're hungry. You want salty...you want sweet.
Denny's is the place to go to crush the midnight craves.
This 24 hour establishment was clean and service was warm, inviting and efficient. The menu boasts full breakfasts, dinner and desserts. The breakfast slams will get you each time, and if not that, then maybe the brownie a la mode with vanilla ice cream. We instead settled for some tangy buffalo wings and ranch dressing with milkshakes. With orange fingers that were licked clean, we knew we made the right decision from eating at Fat Burger. The milkshakes are made with real ice cream and topped generously with whip cream. The cup is accompanied by the silver shaker which holds an additional cup of shake...you really get your money's worth here.
Like I said in the title....midnight run to Denny's is a must.

Mister Sushi was not the most authentic sounding name.
Maybe it just didn't look like much of a store front.
I would have taken it for a fast food take out stand.
The bustling interior did catch my attention so I thought to give it a go. The entire sushi bar was filled so I had to take a booth. I did notice that each of the sushi chefs were indeed Japanese.
Simple decor with several booths and sushi bar...I really didn't know what to expect. I ordered a sashimi appetizer, hand rolls and several pieces of sushi.
The food arrived beautifully prepared and fresh as can be. I was impressed that such a simple place really delivered.
Then again, maybe I missed the point the entire time.
No fluff and stuff but just good food.
Highly recommended and I will be sure to visit again.

This establishment is clean and well run with friendly service. I walked in off the street and they were able to accommodate me immediately. I chose the simple manicure and pedicure that was hardly simple. Each service included a massage treatment and for $5 additional you can upgrade to an exfoliating treatment with sea salt. You don't feel rushed and you walk out with gorgeous nails that feel like they were well cared for. They even go as far as cleaning up the cuticle edges with a small paint brush when they are done.
I would recommend this nail salon to any one looking to get some glam looking nails. Looking by the clientèle that filled the place, I would say most would agree with me.

mall, this is the perfect place to rest after a day of shopping.
When you first enter this cute tea shop you are greeted by a husband and wife duo with friendly smiles. The walls are lined with wonderful gifts that have anything to do with a relaxing cup of tea: tea pots, cups, dishes, books and even CD's. Behind the bar is a wall of vast assortments of teas from all regions of Asia.
If you have any questions about tea, don't hesitate...you might learn a thing or two about tea.
I also purchased a gift basket for some friends we were visiting that was to be made within the hour. The husband took the order of the various teas and told us to come back in an hour. When we returned, his wife had just finished putting the bow on a magnificent wicker basket of tins and foils of tea.
I was highly impressed and suggest to look to this establishment if you want to send a healthy beautiful gift.

I have been shopping at Cheap Jack's since I was 13 in my converse sneakers. At that time, The Antique Boutique and Cheap Jack's were a priority visit every time I was in the village area. Since then, Jack's has really grown.

Check out the website and learn about the different eras of clothing http://www.cheapjacks.com/
The store is truly one of the last "real" vintage clothing stores left in Manhattan. It is well organized by era and the clothing is in fantastic condition for vintage. The selection is immense that it can be overwhelming at times. You wont be disappointed though. I am always in there at least over an hour. Especially with all the cute day dresses, Victorian jackets and Jackie O suits...I just have to try them all!
This place is not so cheap...but has great prices for the vintage selection. A vintage t-shirt here is a real vintage shirt and not some reproduction with a common iron-on.
My latest find is a fake fur coat with 3/4 sleeves with leather trimmed cuffs and pockets. It was slightly too big but I just had to have it...so the in-house tailor had to take it in. The in-house tailor does costumes for theater productions so it is a very professional job and have no qualms of having a vintage piece altered.
Yes, its true...I bought a winter coat in the midst of this heatwave that it was torture trying it on in the store and wearing it while deciding to buy it.
It is though, the best buy of the year for me because I now have this style coat I have been looking for for a long time.
Its so shabby chic that it looks like a coat that I pulled from grandma's one of a kind collection and I am pretty confident I will never find another like it...and neither will you.
