Erie's Newest Hit: Kovey's 7/31/2005

The red awning stretched across the front door makes this restaurant hard to miss. The inside is much larger than I expected from the outside. The large dining room is long and deep, divided into two sides separated by a half wall. Kovey's has everything from steak to pizza. It also features some interesting combos and daily specials. The prices are a bit high for Erie. The Kovey salad with chicken, tomatoes, olive, cheese, egg, and bacon is a pricey $7.69. Other salads such as chicken and steak come topped with fries, but ring up at $6.99. Burgers start at $5.79 for a half-pounder. The chicken club sandwich is $6.79, open-faced beef, $6.59. Other sandwiches start at $4.29 and include your choice of fries, side salad, soup, or homemade potato chips. In fact, most of the sandwiches run in the $4-$6 range. Drinks are reasonably priced at $1.49 and up. The subs come mini for $4.29 and full size for $5.99. Add fries or cup of soup for a buck. more
