Went in to test ride a used KTM I had seen online and checked out previously. The sales guy gets it out and we talk. I ask about a test ride and he gets all condescending and tells me I'll have to sign a bunch of insurance waivers (almost implying the insurance is my responsibility), get pre-approved for a loan on the bike in question before I can ride the bike. I look at him confused and say 'I'm not going through all that for a test ride'. He loses interest and says he thinks we're done then.
I'm kind of stunned. I've very interested in the bike. I have the ability to purchase the bike. I'm the target demographic for businesses like this. I've been around motos most of my life-I'm not an inexperienced rider. I know sales and business as I've been self employed in this area of business for most of my adult life. I don't look like a punk kid. I'm old enough that I don't have time to waste on stuff like this. I drove up in a nice vehicle with a bike on the back that is worth more than the bike I'd like to test drive. Why the condescending attitude?? So I leave frustrated.
Mark the KTM 990 from ADS off my list. There are others out there so that's ok. I'm off to the BMW dealership day after next.
I'd recommend to stay away from ADS and will do so for any of my motorcycle purchases.
