I went bowling with a few friends and my boyfriend last night. I went up to buy a pitcher of beer and the bartender asked for my ID. So I handed her my idea and looks at it and says this does not look like you, I proceeded to ask her why ( because in my ID i have blonde hair and i recently dyed it brown) and this is what she said : this girl in the picture is skinnier. I was like excuse me? I was like is there any other person i can show my ID? She said no, when there was clearly another bartender behind her. So she said I can walk up to the front desk. When i spoke to the manager the manager asked me what was wrong with my id and I showed him my ID and a second form of ID as well. He was like how in the world did she not think this was you? Your hair is just different. So he called her and told her she had to serve me because I was of age. When i walked back to the bar the bartender TOLD ME TO MEET HER OUTSIDE!!!! Under law she told me she can deny anyone she wants to, which yes, she has the right to refuse serve to someone who is underage/ is trying to use a fake ID, or who she thinks had to much too drink. After waiting up there to get served she starts cussing at me and saying that she has been there for 17 years and that there is nothing I can do about it. My friends and my boyfriend were all shocked everyone was looking at her while she was going off. I believe that this service is unacceptable and to say this bowling alley is a family place is a complete JOKE! When she stated the "law" about denying me, too bad she did not remember that cussing at someone and asking them to go outside is ASSULT!
