Just got off the phone with Universal. I blanked on their number, and came on here to get it, only to see all these negative reviews. I can only say that my experience has been exactly the opposite. I haven't bought appliances at Universal, except for a microwave oven, with no problem. However, I have used their repair department for over 15 years. I have never seen such great repairmen. Joseph and all the rest of the guys are amazing. They can fix anything. I know, because I can break anything! And yet, if it will cost more to repair it than it is worth, they are willing to tell you. If you opt to still repair it, they do it. They have repaired my front load washer and dryer, refrigerator, and dishwasher, over the years. And I have always found their repair charges to be very reasonable. You only pay for the "trip" charge, if you opt not to have the repair. I think it is important that people remember that repair people can't afford to travel to your place and diagnose the problem for free. We wouldn't expect people in any other field to do that. My husband said he only wishes that other people were half as good as the Universal repair men are, having seen how great they are over the years. Just our honest experience with them. Be well.
