I go to Top Pot a lot to this location and the one in Queen Anne. I've probably spent thousands on their donuts and sandwiches (well mostly on the sandwiches). But I couldn't believe my eyes today at the rude service I received at the counter.
I have a miniture poodle that I carry in my arms when I go into stores and things and so I thought I'd take him for a walk this 4th of July weekend and grab some donuts. The line as you'd expect on the holiday weekend was gigantic. I waited patiently, the dog in my arms, not making a sound for about 25 minutes.
When I got up to the very front, almost about to buy my donuts, the guy across the counter looked at me and says: "Sorry, dogs aren't allowed" and stares, I stared back in shock - he wasn't going to sell me anything even though I had been in the place with a dog for the past half hour.
"But I've had the dog in my arms the whole time" I said,
"Nope, well I didn't see him" He replied.
So I just left in shock. The guy there could've told me the policy and sold me some donuts and I would have left, embarrassed about bringing a dog in there, but instead I left, donut-less, angry, without knowing what to say and they've definitely lost a customer for life. Although with the lines they get, I guess they don't feel that the customer service is required.
