As someone with more than 20 year’s construction and customer service experience, I found Matt to have a real attitude problem.
I am not sure if he really just thought the job was to technical for him, (not really all that big, a minor foundation repair to a one story rambler.) or maybe he was still mad because of an unfavorable meeting he had with an inspector earlier in the day. I do know he was two and a half hours late for an appointment, and failed to call and say he would be late again for the rescheduled appointment. Then he sends an e-mail declining the job, and insults the customer; berating him and telling him he should be thankful he even came out to do a bid.
I really have to question his skills also as he came to a completely opposite conclusion from every other engineer (at least five of them from insurance and construction firms) who came and examined the project.
This person is a not a professional in any sense of the word and I won’t have him on any project I am managing, not now, not ever.
