I live in the tropics and am well familiar with cockroaches, but I didn’t see any. The place is obviously past its glory days, but it’s cheap and very clean (the roomcleaning was perfect). The location is idyllic: your next door neighbors are two parks and the mighty Mississippi. They have a reasonably priced shuttle service to downtown Memphis or wherever you want to go. If you are being driven by the manager’s wife, you’re in for a treat: very sweet and helpful, but also full of rage for some reason. When she starts yelling at you, she expects you to yell back – I had a great time in Memphis, thanks to Elvis and her. I miss you, Maina.
