Very pleasantly surprised. We've already booked another stay there!! My husband's 35th birthday happened to conincide with Father's Day and since I had made reservations at our favorite orlando restaurant for brunch, we decided to make a mini-trip qand stay overnight in Orlando. We live about an hour and a half away, so we didn't want to spend too much, but we wanted to be near Sea World since we had free passes. I came across the Monumental Hotel on Hotels.com and after reading the reviews i decided to take a chance.
We were very happy with our decision to stay at this hotel. Formerly a Crown Point hotel located about a mile and a half south of Sea World on International Drive, the rooms are large and well appointed with toiletries from Bath and Body Works. the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms very clean and the common areas of the hotel were very well maintained. Although we did not use the pool area, with the free cabanas and the large pool, it was very inviting looking (I forgot my swimsuit!). There is a $6.75 charge per day, per room for internet service and 2 bottles of water, but I had no issues with that. They have a full service restaurant on site, but we did not eat there.
This would be a great place for families to stay, or for a nice romantic get away. The hotel was quiet and out of the way, so a rental car is a necessity, unless you want to walk about 2 miles down the road to other restaurants or to Sea World itself.
I've already booked another room there for our stay next month to celebrate our anniversary! "
