Camp caen 5 stars! 7/18/2009

I am 13 years old, and just finished my second year attending camp caen. there are people i know who have been attending Caen since they were 9 years old. Going to Camp Caen is a must for any kid with an interest in programming. They have such a wide range of classes from basic HTML to Java, C++, c#, Adobe, Graphics, 3D images, and so much more. The camp recently switched to commuter only, and it is a full day camp from 8:30 in the morning to 5 pm. We eat lunch at Bursley dining hall, where the food is pretty decent and they have many choices. In the 2 weeks I was there, I learned so much its incredible! The morning class is 3 hours long, with short breaks. Lunch, and then 45 minutes of afternoon recreation. People sit in the grass and chat, read, or play frisbee or kickball. AFternoon class goes on until 3:30, and from 3:30-5 is free time, meaning you can either play Counterstrike, a free video game offered at Camp, play Capture the Flag, offered 3 times a week, or work on a final Project. During the second week, every campter completes a final project, and on the very last day there is a presentaion for the parents. Although the work we do at CAEN is special, its all the people that make it so Exceptional. The counselors all are 19-23, and great with teen (Ages 9-16). The CITS are 17/18 and in high school and super friendly. the director and assisant director also make camp special. For me, I can see myself easily attending this camp until I am 16, and then being a CIT until I am 18 or so. If I cotinue into the College of Engineering, I will definetly apply to be a counselor. Camp caen was a great experience and I thank each and every one of the staff members for making it so memorable. more
