A family recently had to place their elderly parents into assisted living. After moving they were left with a considerable amount of items, some salable, some donatable, which they needed to do something with. 2 of the 3 children had come from out of state to settle matters for the parents, and were unable to have a sale of their own since they had to return. The Stable Door was contacted, they were shown the items that would, and would NOT, be part of the sale. The Stable Door agreed, and a contract was signed. The sale was to be held in two weeks. The Tuesday before the sale the daughter in CR gave Jeff and Nicole a key to the home so they could price and sort the items for the sale. The Thursday before the sale the daughter noticed that nobody had been there. Friday after work the daughter again went by the house, since the sale had supposedly started, and still nothing. Finally on Saturday, Jeff and Nicole were contacted by one of the children from out of state. Jeff then informed them that they had decided not to do the sale since after a second look there was only "junk". The family had waited two weeks, waiting to put the house on the market to pay for the assisted living, only to get informed THE DAY OF the sale that the Stable Door was not interested any longer. When asked why it had taken almost a week to be told of this, while the Stable Door had the house key, Jeff hung up on the out of state call. The key was picked up, and it appeared that some items may have been missing. The family is still waiting to put the house on the market as they try to do something with the items in the house. The Stable Door owners are two of the strangest, coldest, and most unprofessional people this family has ever attempted to do business with. It is advised that if you are looking for someone to do your garage sale STAY AWAY from this business, and avoid alot of problems!
