swiggle spacer, cracked glass

Tuesday, October 27, 2009
To the people with cracked windows: I have been installing windows for 25 years. The trouble with Certainteed windows is the swiggle spacer. When heat hits it, the swiggle deforms thereby cracking the glass. This happens mostly on narrow or small windows, especially on the south and/or west sides of a house. Certainteed windows was bought by Metal Industries, who refuses to do anything about the cracked glass or the deformed spacers. Warrenties are not being honored.
