Divine came to me from a friend of a friend. They arrived on time and packed everything I had left very well. They took longer than I expected but didn't waste time. They got me in and out of my apartments effeciently. I was very pleased with their service. My only complaint is that they gave me a hard time when I under-tipped at only $25 each (I underestimated the time and thus my budget) and that annoyed me. Tip well and I guess you wont have any problems.

The Staten Island ferry is my favorite way to see the city. I love getting on a Battery Park and watching the Statue of Liberty go by. Heading out to Staten Island. Turning right around and coming back. Then watching the city rise out of the water. It’s magic. I know many people have to take it and I can’t review it as a way to commute. But I can say it’s the cheapest way to see one of the most beautiful views in the world.

I usually pick Carmel over Tel Aviv. They’re both cheap, basically reliable, and of around the same service level. Carmel tends to be a couple of bucks cheaper and I’ve never had any complaints. I like to take one of those coupons that come in the mail with me on vacation and call the day before I get back to make a reservation.

Tel Aviv is fine. That’s it. Don’t expect a lot. They’re usually on time and get you where you want to go. I’ve never had huge problems but I’ve never had a great experience. Basically, I use them or Carmel because they’re cheap. Don’t forget to get one of those coupons that comes in the mail.

Corner Billiards has always been a decent pool hall and the renovation they did a couple of years ago gave it a decent bar, as well. Tables are standard size and usually in good condition. They keep a reasonable selection of cue weights and they are usually in fairly good condition, too, although you’ll see some warped ones, just like every other hall. Best of all, and very important to me, they have hand chalk.

I’ve only used citi habitats once, but I wasn’t impressed. They seemed to me to a by-the-bulk operation. The staff was young (fine but) and inexperienced. I wondered how long they’d been working and what their training was. Maybe it’s just because I wasn’t looking to spend a lot of money, and that’s what they seem to be catering out (churning people out as much as possible) but I would only go back to them if I had to find a place in a hurry.

It’s not your normal bowling alley, with a full bar, good food, and wall displays with pins signed by celebs who’ve showed up to bowl. I love it when you get to play in the blacklights. Go, have fun.

It also carries most of the main fare you’d expect. It is independent, so not cheap, but worth supporting. They also carry a selection of autographed titles at all times.
