When we had to register our cars here in Richland County, we spent some time at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles getting our licenses changed over to Ohio licenses and getting plates and registrations.
The whole process is contained in two buildings next to each other. There is parking outside the buildings and it is located in the Restoration District in downtown Mansfield.
One building handles plates and licenses. We were quickly moved through the process. We needed to change the registrations on the vehicles, and we were sent next door to handle the registration process.
Very quick, very attentive personnel handled our paperwork. They knew what they were doing, the information they gave us was accurate, and in a matter of a few days we had both our vehicles in order as well as our new licenses.
I've been back to renew my license, and again, very fast and the staff was very professional.

When the Unemployment Office was open here in Mansfield, this was the office where I worked as a temp. But this office has been closed for over a year now.
If you are seeking Veterans Employment Services, your best bet is to visit the Richland County Veterans Service Commission at 597 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH 44905 or call them at 419-774-5822. They will be able to put you in touch with the coordinator of the Veterans Employment Services in Mansfield.
It's a shame the State closed down all the Employment offices. Employment has been moved to the Richland Job and Family Services at 171/183 Park Ave East, Mansfield OH 44902 phone number (419) 774-5400.
But I do recommend the Richland Veterans Services for any information pertaining to Veteran Employment services.

My only experiences with the Mansfield Police were that they were polite and helpful.
My experience with them is limited to a single incident involving a family member. They were at his house because of a robbery and they were patient, asked a lot of questions, and were very professional.
Another incident involved a neighbor who was robbed as well. They came by my house to see if we had heard or seen anything and again, were polite and professional.
I find them to be about as helpful as my own experiences with "big city" police and if I needed their assistance, I would not hesitate to call them.

One of the businesses I worked for had purchased their office equipment from Oswalt. Shortly after I got settled in, I noticed that one of the many desk drawers was locked, and there was no key in the desk.
After hunting around the office and not finding the key to this desk file drawer, it was suggested that I get the lock number off the drawer and call Oswalt.
The lady there was very kind and considerate. She took the number, I waited while she looked in her files, and sure enough, she had the key. She said I could pick it up any time.
My office sent someone over to get it, and we had the drawer open in no time. We did return the key to Oswalt, and found that the original key was in the locked desk drawer. A mystery for another day.
Nice enough company, nice people, very helpful.

When the old supermarket at this location went out of business, the store was in need of updating and repairs.
It was immediately taken over by Geyers, and they spent a lot of time fixing up the parking lot and the store. They reopened months later, but the store itself had not changed much.
While it seems to be better lit, the layout of the store is the same. The prices, however, are still quite reasonable for this area.
My one and only stop in to this store was a disappointment. I tried to pick up a few items and pay with a debit card. I was told by the cashier that the bank would not accept debits for less than $10. I immediately stated that I had debited for less than $10 before, and that my bank always accepts any amount I debit on my card. She tried to argue with me, stating finally it was store policy. I said, well, that's different. That is not "bank" policy, that is "store" policy.
Because of that, I have not returned to this store. If the store has policies on minimum debits on bank cards, I will not shop there. I use my debit card all the time at other merchants, no matter how much.
Other than their policy about minimum charges, the store itself seemed to be OK. Stock wise, price wise and the parking - if you live in the area and have no issue with a minimum purchase on a debit card, it would be a fair store to shop in.

Pricing is about average for a non-gourmet coffee to go and it as tasty and appreciated as I was running around.
If you are looking for a quick cup of coffee this place also offers window service. Otherwise, park and drop in for service.
Nice little coffee shop.

Fredericks has their market open in the Quakertown Farmers Market every weekend, and they offer some of the best quality meats around.
Not to be missed is their own brand (Marv's) bologna, slightly sweet and very tasty. They also have their own brand of smoked meats, do check out their smoked pork chops. And, of course, their own sausages, again, very tasty.
Their meat is fresh cut, and you can see all of their stock in their glass display cases.
Note that it tends to get real busy on the weekends, even though they always have plenty of staff. So come early, or stop in on Friday afternoon. They do have those little ticket things to help move the lines along, but being as how they are the best meat market in Q-mart, it is going to be busy. So, be prepared to wait, but isn't the best worth waiting for?

I visited Lenscrafters recently only to find that the doctor associated with them has changed.
As the associated opthamologist is an independent contractor, they can change. I was a bit disappointed but the nurse behind the desk assured me the new doctor was just as capable as my old doctor.
My experience with the new doctor was not a disappointment. The new service has a staff of doctors, and in this case I saw one of his staff doctors, as I was there at an "off" time, Friday evening.
The young man was very professional, did all the tests and took his time as he was seeing me for the first time. He asked all the right questions, filled me in on what he was doing throughout the entire process and was polite and very informative.
He wrote me a prescription and after having the new prescription for two weeks now, the glasses are great! I have better vision now, and while it helps to have a good glasses manufacturer, the prescription is what makes or breaks the glasses.
A new doctor, and I am very happy with him.

I have, unfortunately, had to attend a few services since moving here, and by far the most professional and caring funeral service in town is Wappner's.
In all cases, the attendance by the staff has been excellent, the arrangements professional and to the specifications of the family, and I've never heard an ugly word by any of the families regarding their treatment and care given to the presentation of their loved ones.
And for the arrangements, they tend to every detail, from the services to graveside. They also are flexable in the way they handle each family's financial issues.
If you find yourself in a situation where you need this kind of service, this is the place in Mansfield to get the professional service you and your loved ones deserve.

Friendly House is an institution in Mansfield providing child care, instruction and foster care for the children of Mansfield.
The services offered are meant for the 5-12 age group. They have a swimming pool where they offer swimming lessons for the youngsters during the summer.
They have after school programs, homework help, computer access and other activities all at low cost or no cost to the community. They do focus on the children who are labeled "at risk" and do provide social services for these kids as well.
A worth while investment in the community and a service this area can not do without.
