We called Shirey handyman service to hang a light fixture. They wouldn't quote a price over the phone. When the handyman arrived, he asked how high the ceilings were then looked up the price in a book - nearly $300 to hang a light! I said it was too expensive so he charged me the $50 appearance fee, which is a total rip-off! I'm sure he, or whoever answered the phone, had that same book in front of them before I scheduled the appt. They withheld the price so he'd have to come out and be sure to get $50!

This place is located a couple miles South of the historic Issaquah downtown. It has an ok selection of plants. Nothing out of the world here, but the quality is good, especially for the shrubs. Price for gardening accessories are fair. It also carries some natural fertilizers and organic products.

this nursery stocks a good selection of Japanese maples, some of which I cannot find elsewhere. Other plants are ok but not extraordinary. They do mail out a nice newsletter with helpful gardening tips, promotions, and articles. Since Japanese maples are not cheap, you might want to wait until the autumn sale to buy some.

I got the Kellogg brand soil conditioner from this place at $6 per bale, which is much cheaper than other nurseries. They also carry some wildbird seeds in bulk but the price is not very good. They carry a lot of organic fertilizers too. Sales people are friendly and will help you load your bags of fertilizers.

I have been searching for bedding that catches my eye as I am going to college, and as everyone knows, you need to go all out when buying school supplies! Luckily when I went to Main Street Linens I caught them when they were in the middle of a sale, so I don't remember how their prices were, but they had a nice selection. Not as wide as BB&B or Linens and Things, but they had Egyptian cotton sheets with high thread count, which I specifically look for when bedding shopping, so they had everything I was looking for.

More
If you need to have every kitchen gadget under the sun--or if you're just looking for something very, very specific--Kitchen Basics in Issaquah offers a wide selection of everything you need to bake, braise, roast, blend, and grind. I really enjoy this store for its great selection of baking supplies--cake pans, chocolate molds, pastry brushes, icing decorating tips and more. Usually they have a few options for whatever item you're looking for, running from moderate to expensive. There's a lot crammed into a relatively moderate space, so be prepared to look for awhile, or just ask the usually helpful staff. If you can't find it at Kitchen Basics, chances are you won't find it anywhere at all.

I ran across this place when looking to buy glass for making stained glass. What’s great is that this sells everything related to glass whether you are looking for windows, doors, bulk, or crushed. The staff is quite friendly and they show interest in your projects. It is located in a semi industrial setting and they seem to give priority to contractors.

Kitchen Arts is overpriced and tends to not understand budgets, even large ones. No matter what limit you give the, they design something that costs around ten percent more. I was not even that impressed with the final designs and decided to go with someone else. They listen to your input, but don't implement it.

My experience with them has been horrid since they got my money! First, they charged me for a blower that was standard on the fireplace insert. The refund didn't include the tax I paid. They told me my insert would be delivered within two weeks, installed shortly after that. After a month, a call said it was finally in, the installer would call to set up a time. No, I couldn't schedule that through them. When the installer showed up, he didn't know the stove well enough to realize a part was missing. Now I get to wait longer. I am hoping when the installer comes back out, he is able to take care of the installation problems that happened before. So, a month and a half after giving them my money, I am still waiting! Can I give them less than one star?
