FREE life insurance for low income families that goes towards education!
This program offers $50,000 in life insurance to low income families that will go towards a child's (or children's) education if the person who applies dies 10 years from teh date that person is accepted. This program is able to offer 20,000 such policies and has given away approximately 6,000. It expires 12/31/2007!
You have to be able to answer 6 questions posed to you over the phone to initially qualify. Then a letter is sent to you re: the rest of the process. Someone will come to your home for a urine and blood sample, just as they would for any other life insurance policy. If your income is between $10,000 and $40,000 and you work, even part time, you may be eligible. Those 2 are major requirements to meet to qualify.
If you happen to make more than $40,000 in the future, your policy will still be in effect. Once approved, you can't lose it. Qualifying is based on where you are today! The policy is in effect for 10 years. If you do not die in that 10 years, the policy just goes away. If you do die, the children you designate will have $50,000 (if you designate 1 child or it is split evenly between how many children you list) to use towards their educational expenses up to age 35!
