Brix is still imaginative and always pleasing even after being open now for over 4 years...(which is rare anymore for any Indianapolis independent.) be sure to check it out for yourself and double check the info listed here....Citysearch is very outdated in Indianapolis. Brix no longer does Brunch and isn't open 7 days a week....i also think it is improperly listed as a "bakery." I have emailed citysearch and they don't seem to be on the ball. Brix is definitely more of an American Bistro and changes its menu seasonally. It is a very unassuming yet romantic and stylish atmosphere. Kids are welcome as far as I know, but I have to say like so many other restaurants, I wish parents would bring the misbehaved ones early in the evening and keep the dinner hours reserved for the well behaved children. I digress. Brix is highly recommended and should not be missed!
(One side note--I was very impressed last time I was in with 3 other diners. One of my guests wasn't crazy about a particular spice used in his dish (he said it was just too spicy for his taste) and the owner (or manager?) happily took the entire dish off of our bill and quickly replaced his dish. No questions asked. We even got a free dessert. I was very impressed!
Pros: You can reserve the bar for private catered dining--it's perfect!

Several friends of ours frequent the place and said they had a good brunch, and have been trying to get us to go for many months now. Wish I had gone sooner, it is going to be a favorite. One of the other guests there told us they come all the time, best food around they said.
Beer List including Three Floyds Dreadnaught the Sunday night we were there.
Had great pulled pork and my wife had a perfectly cooked piece of fresh fish. Food came quickly and our server was nice.
Not too expensive, except for the Dreadnaught which I have never had anywhere else.
Pros: Everyone was helpful
Cons: No smoking and there were some happy kids

This local owned tavern is always hopping with people. You almost always have to wait for a table but they are pretty quick. The food is very good and the atmosphere is casual and friendly. They offer daily specials. No one under 18 is allowed.

There's a reason they call it Friendly's!! Everyone there is really friendly! They have hometown food like burgers, and good old fashioned vegetable soup. But one thing that many people order (about one order per table according to the manager!!) is their tenderloins! They have a person dedicated to cooking tenderloins all day.
It started out as a buggy house, but was turned into a bar in the 1950's. There are a few tables that are favorites and hard to get, like the big round table by the big screen.

More
Altum's is one of those places that makes it easy to go shopping. Designed like a botanical garden, it boasts a large greenhouse and several acres of woody plants, shrubs, roses and bedding plants for sale. Everything is displayed in a way that is more like your back yard, rather than in the regimented rows of plastic pots you normally see in garden stores. This makes it easy to visualize how the plants will look in your location.
The best part of shopping here, however, is the staff. I was looking for some specific products which, upon inquiry at big box hardware stores or other chain garden stores, returned a blank stare. The two staffers at Altum's not only were acquainted with the products, they had them in stock and were able to help me locate them.
Altum's also stocks several products of interest to organic gardeners. One of these - SoilSoup - is an infusion of worm castings. Any gardener who is apprehensive about raising redworms in their compost area now has the opportunity to obtain the benefits of worm compost tea without the worm bed.
Finally, Altum's offers many specialty plants and varieties, all of which come ball and burlapped or potted in large (1 gal.) nursery pots. If you are looking for the latest releases, specimen trees, or need to be inspired beyond the hosta-daylily-foundation evergreen traditions, Altum's is the place to find your plant, and to get legitimate information on planting and growing it successfully.
PROS: Wide selection of plants, very attractive surroundings
CONS: Currently, Michigan Road is under construction; travel there is challenging

My 19 month old currently attends Noah’s Ark and is very happy there. The teachers and staff are extremely good with the kids and I can tell they thoroughly enjoy their jobs. My child is excited to go in the morning and is always playing cheerfully when I pick him up. My biggest concern is that being in a church there is a certain lack of security as the doors are always open and do not require a pass code, however the teachers always ask for ID if they have not seen you before. I would highly recommend this center to anyone.

The Brick Street Inn was such a wonderful addition to our weekend getaway to Zionsville! It was in walking distance to all of the shopping, galleries and restaurants, and convenient to downtown Indianapolis too! The staff was very attentive, and the historic building was gorgeous! The lounge downstairs (which we were thrilled had just opened after months of construction) was swank and elegant with awesome martinis. We hope to be back very soon....
Pros: ambience, location, service
Cons: ??

This store is so much more than a place to get some carpet!
You can find anything that you need here, as far as floor coverings. You can find small area rugs, wall to wall carpeting, even scatter rugs.
Your budget can be great, or it can be small, and you can still find your needs met here. It is hard to find a place with such a great range, that has such customer service. They will help you to narrow down your possibilities to exactly what you need.
They have hand-made, hooked, and braided rugs. They have wall to wall carpeting, from a wide variety of providers.
And best of all, you make your decision without pressure!!
