I just hosted a 30th Birthday party at Block 5 and I must say, it couldn't have gone any better! Any event with Niche Hospitality Group allows you to order food from any of their 3 fantastic restaurants, their staff and manager were more than accommodating and helped me put together a great party within my budget. Goes without saying that the food at both Block 5 and Bocado is exceptional but to have the kind of white-glove service as well -- that stands out. Top notch venue, food, staff and service!
Pros: food, valet parking, service
Cons: none

Who would have thought a 5 star New York City elite style resturant in downtown Worcester!
Amazing fare - with an ever changing menu so you get a new treat every few months.
The drink menu is fun and amazing - with some very unique drinks.
Definitely on the mid to high price range but worth every penny.
The atmosphre is fun and unique with some breath taking photography of the city by a local artist.
This place is usually packed and parking can be tough at lunch or dinner so call and make reservations!
ps - the desserts are incredible! TRY THE SPRING ROLL DESSERT!

I was a little disappointed because the menu suggests that your palette will be totally tantalized, but while the menu is solid and delicious, it's definitely more subtle than bold. Due to the fact that not every dish was a total slam dunk, I did feel it was a bit overpriced - and i'm the type who puts money down when the food is worth it. The environment is very nice indeed and while elegant, my 12 year old son accompanied us in jeans and didn't feel out of his element. The appetizers are just as good as the entrees which is a plus. I would prefer going to Bocado, by the same owners down the street. But don't get me wrong - it's still good and if you don't want to drive to Boston but want the fine dining experience, Block 5 can be a good destination.
Pros: Ambience, service, food
Cons: not quite a slam dunk on all dishes

I have been to Block Five on two occasions. On the first occasion I was impressed with the decor and the warm inviting look of the dinning room. While the food is not terribly impressive it is a nice deversion from the usual fair that can be offered in Worcester. I thought the drinks were well made and the signature chocolate spring rolls were definitely something worth returning for. I did however ask how one could get a booth as the dinning room (and bar area) are drafty it can be a bit chilly if one is not in a booth. They said you had to RESERVE them.
For one of our best friends Birthdays I called ONE MONTH ahead to make an early evening reservation and to request a booth. I then called two days before we were to show up to confirm the reservation. They said fine. I also specifically asked for the dinning room (as you DO NOT WANT THE BOOTHS IN THE BAR as you hang off the seats and you feel like you are sitting on a kitchen stool eating off a steel counter.) We get
to the restaurant there is one booth left and we assume that is ours. The owner informs us that is for someone else and that if we wait in the bar area he will have something for us. Well, 20 minutes later still no table. He finally sets us up in one of the bar booths.
What I found to be an interesting warm restuarant with slightly overpriced food and drinks was now a restuarant that basically only catered to the owners friends and cronies and anyone he was trying to impress. He did not apologize for us not being in the dinning room or having to sit in the bar booths. While his friends got the booth that we had called TWICE to ask for . We also did not want to eat in the bar booths off steel table tops. This was a special Birthday celebration.
Moral of the story is, don't go during the cold months, and unless you know the owner or have inside friends there don't expect a booth even if you reserved one months in advance. They obviously don't need to attract new customers.
Pros: Chocolate Spring Rolls
Cons: Can be cold and drafty and even if one reserves a booth, usually goes to friends of the place.
