A date night here with another couple was excellent from start to finish. Ask for Bobbie...attentive service and very good recommendations. It's a bit on the pricey side, but worth it. After reading the reviews on this website I was extremely excited to visit this restaurant, especially since there are very few Japanese restaurants in the area. I must say I was sadly dissapointed. The waitress treated us as if we weren't there and made as little eye contact as possible when serving us. She took forever to bring us our food and when she finally did she didn't even bother to bring us our chopsticks. The Sushi wasn't bad but not the best we've had. We wanted to order more but we felt so uncomfortable with the way the waitress was treating us that we just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. We felt the food was a bit pricey and if the service had been better we may not have cared. Once we left we headed to the Chinese restaurant across the street and bought some Sushi from them. We vowed to never visit Zipango again and have not gone back since. Instead we now visit Sakura Tokyo on Park Ave. Pros: It's full of ambience, very lively Cons: Small and crowded, Parking isn't great

Zipango is a fun, trendy, oftentimes noisy upscale bar & grill. Reservations recommended on weekends. Fortunately, with a fabulous wine list and serious cocktails and martinis, one can relax, have a drink, and prepare to be dazzled by the food. In addition to standard sushi offerings, Kenzo creates unique fusion-type dishes. The menu also offers a selection of grilled meats and seafood.
