Decent buffets at holidays.
Great atmosphere - located in the top of an old mill building so decent history to look at.
Parking can be tough during the day but easy by night.

We visited your establishment for lunch last thursday and we were promptly greated by a very sweet waitress sorry that I can't remember the name but she had very stilish glasses, anyway she offered us a choice of the express buffet or lunch from the menu. We opted for the lunch buffet which was great, almost too many items to choose from for the price. We showed our interest in your establishment and since we are from out of town she asked us to come back over the weekend for dancing. I said to myself What? come to eat at a night club Nah! however my husband insisted on coming out that night to see what it's all about and let me tell you was I wrong. It's a very pleasant ambiance and the place only looks Its best at night the food was outstanding only to be supported by our great server Miguel. With all of the above said Maxwell's will always be a place we will visit when we come back to Worscester.

A group of 13 of us attended the Sunday Brunch and it was beyond our expectations. The building is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The buffet was the most extensive we had seen and by far the most delicious we had tasted. All items wither hot or cold as they were meant to be. The room we were in was bright, comfortable and relaxing environment to enjoy our meal. Ben the waiter was excellent and anticipated our needs. Everyone who attended were so impressed they all intend to return and spread the word. Everyone was warm, friendly and understood customer service. Congratulations to Bill Appleby and his outstanding staff. We will return.

I found the scathing review written about Maxwell Silverman's by anonymous dated 09/16/07 to be disparaging to say the least.
I have been a patron of this restaurant for about twenty-five years.Twenty-five years ago I went to Maxwell Silverman's with no specific expectations, simply put all my expectations were met and exceeded. Maxwell Silverman's to me demonstrates that it is the whole dinning experience and not just the great quality of the food that makes dinning there such a pleasure.
The dining room has an upscale atmosphere with an ambiance that is chic, warm, and romantic. Dancing is available on Friday and Saturday nights for your added enjoyment.
They have an eclectic menu, this isn't a restaurant where you have to settle for just anything its diverse menu caters to all dietary needs and wants. The menu beckons you to want to try all of the entries at least once.
The wait staff are attentive, amiable and knowledgeable. I believe that this is a unique and classy restaurant, one that should be proud that it has been in business for almost thirty-one years. I think that this alone is testimony to its greatness, and that they must be doing something right.
As the saying goes You can't please all of the people all of the time, however after thirty years they must be pleasing most of the people most of the time.
Anonymous begrudgingly gave this restaurant only one star, I give it five stars and a big thank you for always striving to be the best.

Don't let the scrumptious on-line menu fool you, this is one restaurant that public can do without. From the $5 basket of bread (there was nothing freshly baked about them, it was an assortment of buns from your local grocery store) as for the dipping oil...pass! It was gross. My prime rib went back to the kitchen 3 times. It became obvious the kitchen had no idea how to cook when the final time it was returned to me they decided to cover it with red onion and I have no clue what they drizzled on my plate but it tasted like black sticky vinigar. My meat and my rice pilaf was soaking in it, can you say disgusting! It went back to the kitchen for good. My husband's chicken breast still had the skin on it . He compared it to chewing rubber, He opted to remove the rubbery skin, however it was also where the nut crusted seasoning was, Needless to say, no skin, no seasoning, no flavor! Who serves chicken breast with the skin on it? There was nothing redeeming about this evening out. The service was lousy, the food was worse. The only reason I gave this place one star is because I couldn't save my review without clicking on one. I don't want to confuse people into thinking it had ANY quality.
I would strongly recommend going someplace else!

My husband and I arrived for our 7PM reservation on time, and we were seated within 10 minutes. Our table was small and cramped, but we were determined to be upbeat about this restaurant. We ordered two wines and a bread basket and our server disappeared for several minutes. He brought our wine, but our bread basket never arrived. After 15 minutes passed, an order for bruchetta arrived, and was sent back...still no bread. After another 20 minutes, he took our dinner order (1 scallop dinner & 1 schrod dinner) and another order for 1 wine. We had nothing to eat for 55 minutes until a plate arrived with 2 rolls on it, followed by the bread basket, though no wine. We had had enough, so I asked for our check, and while waiting for that (another 10 minutes) I spoke to the manager [who did nothing to alleviate our distress]. The bill finally arrived with our dinners included on it ($66.00), so THAT had to be fixed. The second bill included the Shiraz which never came so THAT, too had to be fixed. My husband and I were shocked that no attempt to make us feel better was made. Not even a comped dinner or a gift certificate...unbelievable! With all the tremendous restaurants in Worcester, skip this place and get treated the way you should!
PROS: None
CONS: Unacceptable service; lousy treatment by management

Maxwell-Silverman's restaurant has top notch professional service and fabulous food. Whether it's a steak dish, chicken or fish, the food is excellent.
The first floor is where the restaurant is located. There is also a fourth and fifth floor which can be reserved for functions.
The fourth floor is a funky lounge area with a dance floor and bar, and the fifth floor is a formal dining area. I had my wedding there last September and everything was perfect. Guests commented not only on the excellent food and service but also on the uniqueness of the facilities.
I highly recommend this establishment for your dining and function needs.
PROS: Great food, great facility, great value, excellent service!
CONS: None
