One of my favorite vacations as a child was visiting the caves in Pennsylvania with my family...
I enjoyed it so much and had such great memories of the caves- I decided to bring my family.
Red Panther's Woodward Cave is named "The Big One"
This is 1 of the largest caves in Pennsylvania. An average guided tour takes around 50 minutes. The temperature inside the cave is almost always 50 degrees.... so I advise a jacket.
The cave is open in the Fall--- Its quite a nice trip.. Hours of operation in Fall (Sept. 30-Oct 15) Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm.... They do have a haunted Cave on the weekend of Oct 21 & 22.
The cave is great--- It has 5 big rooms... The first "Ballroom"- the actually have square dances and hold banquets here in the cave in the Ballroom-- I found that pretty amazing. The Dragons Den- this room has alot of helictites-- they are cool growing from the cave walls.. These are delicate so you cannot touch- The Hanging Forest- This room has stalactites and lots of them- These are the formations that hang from the top of the cave and drip down..The Hall of Statues- this room is almost 200 ft longand has Stalagmites--- these come from the floor up ... one is 14 ft high .. and the Upper Room--
The rates are great for the cave
Adults $10.50
3-12 $5.00
under 3- Free
This was quite the adventure... We stayed at the Woodward Campground last year- See my review for this.
A great time... Come and visit the caves of PA.
