I always thought that community centers (such as the YMCA, etc.) were supposed to be easily joinable and not too expensive. Unfortunately, the JCC is on the expensive side. They advertise financial assistance for their membership fees in two ways; 1) money off and 2) membership in trade for other skills. I attempted to do the latter and was denied. They did take $200 off the membership, which was still too pricey for me. The place is huge, and clean, and very nice. Although, it's definitely expensive. I don't know how other families would be able to join and stay there, but somehow they do. They do have a bunch of recreational activities, and have a bunch of kids activities, so you family should be well entertained.
