Finding good Asian cuisine in the Lakes Region is difficult at best. Having moved here from an area where excellent Asian restaurants are a dime a dozen, I've been suffering withdrawal! This restaurant made me forget all the the Asian places I'd been to before. West Lake truly surpasses my expectations, and has become one of my top five local restaurants. Very flavorful dishes, inexpensive, and fast. Lunch portions are almost enough for two meals. Plenty of parking, and it's far less than a ten minute drive out of town, just past Trotting Track Road on the right. (We've never eaten in the restaurant, always taken food to go.)

Currently known as Wolfgang's, this is the place to go for fast, friendly service and good food. The pizza is excellent, as are their subs and other offerings. The atmosphere is also very relaxing. According to the local newspaper, the owner prides himself on consistency, something the competition could learn from. With Wolfgang's, we always know what we're going to get, and we keep coming back for more! One small complaint, parking is sometimes difficult, but park in Clarke Plaza and walk around. Getting back on the road from Wolfgang's lot is also a little scary at times; people are crazy drivers in this town. And I believe they deliver sometimes!

I love the personal, small town feeling of DeVylder's. All of the employees greet you with a smile and are very helpful. They have GREAT homemade soups and meals available everyday. The apple cider from their own farm grown apples is the best! DeVylder's has updated their products and now carry a pretty good selection of gourmet products. I love the Barefoot Contessa line! The prices can be a little high, but considering the price of gas these days, it probably evens out by the time you would drive 30 minutes to an hour anywhere else. Plus, I'd rather walk into DeVylder's over a Market Basket any day!

Locals love this small coffee spot with tasty breakfasts and great lunches because the visitors aren't occupying the tables. Bring a paper, catch the gossip and talk local politics over a cup of joe or two.

At one time Wolfeboro H.O.P. was *almost* as great as it's estranged cousin store, Loui's Pizza. Today, it is mearly a popular pizza shop lucky enough to be in the heart of downtown. The food is decent. The dining area is large and has an outdoor patio. The service... in the summer all these places hire local kids, and they usually aren't real friendly, and the food often isn't consistent. But they do deliver, sometimes. One bad thing; their hours are subject to change without notice. New management took over this summer, I hear, so maybe it'll improve.

Located in a historic inn this dining room serves up American fare to locals and visitors alike. I prefer the bar area where numbered pewter beer mugs of the locals hang with pride from the rafters. Honest food and reasonable prices. Fireside dining. Plus the drunks are known to kiss the moose.

Like many places in Wolfeboro, the big sell here is the proximity to downtown. Just a few paces from the town docks, you can't beat it. I pass it a lot on my way to the hardware store, which is outrageously expensive. Stick with the classics and you won't be disappointed.

When I'm in Wolfeboro and want a great gourmet lunch or dinner for take away i stop into Mise En Place. Off the busy main street this is spot for locals and those who summer there. Dine in or take away for an exceptional meal every time. Tip of the hat to the chef.
