Mahan's Lakeview Fine Catering

Mahan's was a lifelong dream wedding venue for me, as I had attended 8 weddings there in the past! We booked Mahan's in July of 2017 for our October 2018 wedding. Everything looked beautiful. Fast forward to the middle of July of 2018, we had a meeting to make our final payment with Marty at 6:00p which he showed up for at 6:45p - and meant we had 45 minutes to look around. The place was a disaster. They had apparently not landscaped for the season, and the property was a gigantic safety hazard. I took about 50 photos of broken stairs, poorly manicured landscape, cracks in walls, water damaged ceilings, broken glass from past weddings, non-working fountain, garbage and more. He was somewhat apologetic, but condescendingly assured us that they would fix everything before our wedding (10 weeks away). I spoke to two offices in town regarding fire and safety and was told that if there were any violations, they could be shut down at any time. Even on our wedding day. Needless to say, we were forced to find another venue - and lost our deposit, which I'm sure they needed... we had to send out new invitations, hire new vendors (since Mahan's included DJ, cake, etc.). This place used to be the DREAM and now has turned into an insanely overpriced mess. I'd be more than happy to share all of these photos with anyone who would like to see them. Moral of the store is, if you have a budget of $150 per person, save your money and go ANYWHERE else. The reviews don't lie! They are washed up, and clearly can't maintain a venue that was once amazing. more

I attended a wedding at Mahan's Lakeview, two weeks ago...this place is a dump. Brides to be....don't waste your money. Go somewhere else. Food is terrible, waitress/waiter staff is rude. A line formed out the door, because the staff had to "check guests in"...TACKY. Worried about wedding crashers? Don't worry they don't want to come to your dump. DJ stinks, bathrooms are way to small. I hear this is one stop shopping, if a bride can't book a limo, a DJ, and purchase a wedding cake then you shouldn't be getting married. This place needs a total renovation, and fire all of the rude waitress/waiter staff. more

This is the perfect place! The Management is down to earth and honest. I couldn't imagine someone not liking them. They return your calls promptly and are willing to work with you on all planning and changes. The food is fantastic! If you are planning a wedding I would consider Mahan's. They have been in business for many years and this is a place that is different for the area choices of reception halls. more

I had two daughters marry this year ~ one in June and one in September. Both weddings were so incredibe, each very different in style and taste, both done perfectly for my daughters. Each wedding was unique in style and presentation, yet the core basics of service and atmosphere presented a magical, wonderful experience for both of my daughters. our guest were delighted both times (the relatives were the same), yet felt they created two totally different experiences. the food ~ amazing! the atmosphere ~ magical the attention ~ perfect. i am unable to verbally express the gratitude and happiness they created for my daughters (who still radiate when they talk about it!) I had the opportunity on Saturday to attend a wedding and will never return to this dump. The management used foul language and the place is a dump. Beware. more

Wow! Everyone thought this place was amazing in so many ways from the grounds to the service to the food. The wedding party had their own cocktail party on the grounds while taking pictures. Ray, our wedding coordinator, made sure everything was in order and was available if we needed anything (which we never did since we were SO well taken care of). Our cake, one limo, open bar, and DJ were included in our package. The cake was beautiful even though we didn’t get a chance to try it! ? (We heard it was delicious though-vanilla cake with chocolate mousse). The DJ was great and we had him when the band took their break and for the last half hour of the reception. The dance floor was ALWAYS packed. Everyone raved about the food and the service here-definitely top notch! more
