This neighborhood store is a pleasant change of pace from the big home improvement mega stores.
In addition to carrying a fine selection of standard hardware supplies, this store also carries a nice supply of hobby items. Model trains are well represented here and there is a good one on display. Model rockets and remote control vehicles are also well represented.
Parking is adequate, although getting in and out of the lot when Coal Street is busy can be a pain in the neck.

It's hockey time in NEPA once again. The Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins are the minor league hockey team for the Pittsburgh Penguins. This is a great and fun activity to do, especially at this time of the year. Hockey can be so much fun to watch. They play many games throughout the season, so go catch a game. Call the box office for ticket info such as prices and availability.

I have been going to Boscov's Department Store for many, many years now. They have a wide selection of apparel for men, women, and children. They also have shoes, jewelry, toys, appliances, furniture, bedding, pets, collectables, and so much more. They even have a travel center and a hair salon inside. I shop here a lot. The sales people are friendly and the prices are great. They usually have a lot of parking except when its the holiday season.

If you are desperate to play a round, do not have a ride, and are stranded at this golf course for some reason, you might as well play a round.
This short golf course is frequented by plenty of people, sadly, most of them can't play golf. Make sure you bring an old set of clubs, since you are more than likely to dig up a rock before hitting your ball.
Maintenance is average at best. Price is good and parking is ample.

Good place to bowl. The interior is fairly clean for a bowling alley and the ventilation is better than most houses.
Join a league or have a child's party, you will have fun either way.
Moonlight bowling is also pretty cool here. Lots of glowing stuff, lights and music.
Rarely have any trouble with the lanes here. Balls don't returned with chips and scratches like they do at other local bowling centers.
Parking is adequate. The staff is helpful when they notice you are at the counter.
My only knock is that the prices are getting a little crazy. Three bucks for a line of bowling? It is cheaper to golf anymore. What happened to the poor man's game?

This is a good place for a novice or expert to go for their skiing, biking or other outdoor adventure needs.
There are a number of people on staff who are indeed very knowledgeable about biking and skiing. They carry a wide range of accessories for many outdoor adventure sports.
The location is very convenient from Interstate 81 and parking is adequate.
Their prices are competitive, and when they have sales you can truly get some outstanding deals if you know what to look for.
They will also tune your skis or your bike, or perform minor repair work. Most importantly though, they can provide advice and recommendations that is practical.

If you like second hand smoke, look no further. A constant hang out for high schoolers looking to smoke away from the watchful eyes of their parents. Which does not really matter to me that much, except that the ventilation is poor, making it difficult for non-smokers to breathe (and see) in this dimly lit basement of a pool hall.
Tables are typical and seem to be maintained reasonably well. The pool cues leave something to be desired, but if you are any good at pool you will be bringing your own anyway. The prices are average for a pool hall.
Location is good if you happen to live in Wilkes-Barre, otherwise it is not so good. Parking is adequate.
