omg, this place is everything you want in a restaurant! the atmosphere is "polished causal" so you can go in dressed up for a special occasion OR in your shorts after a day of golfing. the polished wood, the smiling hostesses, unique art on the walls, real plants and a neat clean look all combine to set the mood here- warm, welcoming and friendly.
the food: WOW!!! a very knowledgable and enthusiastic server guided us through the menu on our first visit here. at her suggestion, we tried one of their signature shrimp appetizers. this appetizer is amazing! VERY unique!! their fish is brought in fresh several times a week, so don't think you can get fresh seafood in Kansas! they offer several interesting sauce options for their fish entrees. fresh, fresh, FRESH ingredients in everything from the haricot vert (french green beans) and chilled asparagus side orders to the herbs in the sauces to the fruit in their specialty bar drinks!!
speaking of the bar ... they bring the fresh-forward philosophy out of the kitchen into the bar and it shows in the taste and quality of the drinks!! again, at our servers urging, we tried the Pomogranate Martini. many restaurants offer a pomogranate martini, but none i have ever had measure up to this one! fresh basil in the Strawberry Basil Lemonade! all their bar juices are fresh-squeezed, not poured from a can! ever the sweet-n-sour! they have a lovely core wine list and a list of featured wines that change regularly and the servers seem well prepared to suggest great wine pairings.
the service: knowledgable and friendly. you can tell these people really love what they do. everyone in the place contributed to the service at out table and insured that we had a great experience. our server was able to answer all our questions and make food and drink suggestions that really WOWed us!
we were pleasantly surprised at the value we found here. it wasn't pricey at all! for the experience we had at Bonefish, worth every penny!

Bonefish get a clue and clean up the silverware!

My family eats here very often. We love the large variety of fish and seafood, and the service really is phenomenal. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from, and the bang bang shrimp is out of this world. it's a little more expensive there, but it's a slightly more casual fine dining restuarant, so it's very welcoming. Very romantic lighting, as well! All around, everything was great. This is one of the true places in Wichita where the fish is flown in daily. Definitely one of my favorities.

While I've never been to the counterpart in Seattle, I have been to the Bonefish Grill that recently opened in Wichita, KS a few times now. Two of the three times were really good experiences and I'll focus on those. The one experience that wasn't as good had more to do with our wait staff person than the restaurant itself.
First, let me wax romantic about my love for the crab cakes here. YUUUUUMMMMMM!!!!!!! After sampling these on my first visit to this restaurant I was afraid that it was a one time good night for crab cakes because I was swayed by the good time I was having, but I can say that after a 2nd turn with these as my dinner (and dining alone) I can report that they were just as good the next time around. I highly recommend them if you are a crab fan - or even if you aren't.
The caesar salad here is also good and I was able to make a wonderful meal out of crab cakes and this salad which made me plenty happy. However, if you're looking for more than this for dinner you'll be pleased with the full menu of items. One section of the menu allows you to choose a style of fish or crustacean and the sauce that is served with it. This is a wonderful option if you think you'll be here more than once so you can try fish out with all kinds of flavors as accompaniment. Choices for the sauces include lemon butter, mediterranean, and a mango salsa. (There is one more but I've forgotten it already.)
My 2nd visit here I had the Chilean Sea Bass with the mango salsa. Also very good - but I did get vegetables that weren't quite steamed enough so they were really crunchy.
The crab lump soup is tasty as well if you want that as an option over an appetizer or a salad to start. The bar makes a mean vodka martini (it's good) and the wine list is pretty decent considering how limited the overall selection of wines are in the whole State. For a girl who is a Seattle-ite this is a place I will frequent on my visits to Wichita to give me a reminder of food from home.
For fun, seek out a server named Scott and ask him about his side Karaoke career....
