Just this year, my family has been visiting this zoo and have been spending lots of time there. My children love to look at the animals, learn what they eat, etc. They also love the water fountains to play in. I purchased an annual pass ($50) which allows me to get in for "free" along with a guest. My children also get in for free. I've taken my family there atleast 15 times this year, so I've gotten my moneys worth! If you have small children and live in the area, you should really think of investing in the pass, which save lots of $$ in the longer run. Sometimes we go for animals, sometimes just the fountains. What kid doesn't like the zoo?? The only complaint I have is that they don't an elephant or a giraffe. What kind of zoo doesn't have those? Other than that, they have tigers, bears, flamingos and lots more.

Although small, the Palm Beach Zoo has a lot to offer. Begin your trek in Austral-Asia, where you'll see wallabies, kookaburras, kangaroos and a Bengal tiger. This is followed by the Florida exhibit, which houses animals native to Florida - flamingos, a Florida panther, roseate spoonbills, a bald eagle, scarlet ibis, otters, turtles, gators and coons. In the Tropics of the Americas you can see bush dogs, jaguars, frogs, bats, snakes, spiders, anteaters, emus, tapirs and fish. Throughout your journey are interesting architectural and landscape elements like a cypress boardwalk, saw mill and waterfalls which make things more adventuresome. There are also a carousel, gift shop and restaurant to enjoy.

This is not a large zoo by any means, but they seem to be improving and expanding their collection continually. I like that my family can make it through the whole zoo in less than a morning or afternoon, with pleanty of time to hang out by the fountains or take a spin on the carousel. The kids love going to the zoo and have learned a lot about animals since we've been members. The best time to go is first thing in the morning or later in the day when it's not so hot and the animals are not seeking shady spots to take naps.

This is a nice zoo. It's not overly huge where you can't see everything in one day. Actually, you can probably make it through in just a couple hours-- less if you don't really read everything. There are still going through a little construction, but most of the exhibits are open. The animal encounter is a great way to learn about and see up close different animals. They have a petting zoo and a lot of opportunities to feed animals (25 cents). They have a carousel ($2 per rider) and fountains that the kids love frolicking through. There are also a few areas where you can sit and enjoy a picnic lunch as well as a cafe and a snack bar.

This is not a very big zoo. They seems to be improving though. They just made a big addition last summer and they've added a couple bears earlier this year. I have two young children, so I like the fact that they have a bunch of programs and special events lined up for kids throughout the year. Our family are members of this zoo and I'd say it was money well spent. My wife takes the kids at least a few times a month and I like to go when I'm not working. Since the zoo is relatively small, we get through it fairly quickly-- something good in the summer months-- and the kids know where all the animals are. A big draw for the kids are the fountains. The kids bring their bathing suits and play in the water after walking around all morning in the heat. A great way to cool off and something for them to look forward to. And then we can look forward to them falling asleep in the car on the way home.

This is a 23 acre zoo. There are more than 600 animals from Florida , The Americas , Africa and Asia. The zoo has fully recovered from last year's Hurricanes. I won a 1st place award from a local camera club with a photograph of a Peacock. Many of the animals include Tigers, Giant Tortoises,exotic birds, Peacocks, kangaroos and reptiles. There is an interactive water fountain which kids love to run through and a carousel. There are also picnic grounds. Admission is very reasonable.

The first time I went to this zoo I felt a little disappointed. Coming from Toronto and having visited the Metro Zoo about twice a year since Kindergarten, I was used to spending the whole day looking at tons of animals from all over the globe. Now that I have my own children, I can appreciate this zoo much more. There is a good number of different animals and they are set in beautiful environments. There aren't so many that my children are complaining that they're tired and want to go home. And there's enough that it doesn't feel like it went by in a flash. They also offer animal encounter shows and a petting zoo. There's a carousel ($2 per rider) and a fountain that the children can run through to cool off after a hot day walking under the Florida sun. There is a snack bar and a cafe, too, in case you want to grab a bite. The zoo has special events planned throughout the year and if you have a chance to go, they're always a lot of fun, We became members last year and will be renewing when it expires. It is a great value.

If you sign up as a zoo member, this turns out to be a great deal--you get in free all year plus get 50% off other zoos throughout the country (you get a list when you sign up). After a long day of animal watching the kids can run around the fountain at the center of the zoo--they even provide cabanas where you can change. If you're not into that, you can watch your kid go around the merry-go-round at the east side of the zoo for $2 a child. The money goes towards animal food. I think the best animals to watch are the otters.....they are almost always seen swimming and doing black flips into the water.
