Los Angeles offers a world-class selection of attractions for the weekend visitor, from the Santa Monica boardwalk and 3rd St. Promenade in the far west to the Disney Concert Hall downtown, with the Getty Center, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and several major movie studios in between. Unfortunately, given their broad dispersion from east to west, no single hotel location offers easy access to all these destinations.
If you're looking for a top-flight hotel that minimizes your drive time while offering the richest possible set of activites right out your door, I highly recommend the Mondrian in West Hollywood. Located right on Sunset, the Mondrian is a destination in itself - the rooftop Skybar is one of the hottest watering holes in LA - and offers a central point from which to venture both east and west. In addition, the Sunset Strip and West Hollywood in general offer some of the most interesting street life in all of LA, with hundreds of great stores, coffee shops, music venues and bars all clustered within a few square miles.

I have to warn you, the younger crowd chills out at this hotel frequently. The decor reminds me of an iPod…the hotel is mostly white. The hotel is in a convenient location and our room had a gorgeous view. The pool is great and the hotel overall is very modern. I recommend you to head down to the Skybar and Asia de Cuba.

On a Friday or Saturday night, you can see abunch of wannabe Lindsays and Paris hopefuls walking to this place. You can see why, since it IS a gorgeous hotel. But the REAL reason they flock here is because it houses SkyBar, an LA nightclub staple (if you are not staying here, don't bother if you're not in"the business"-you won't get in).
So you might as well book a room or suite here and enjoy what they are, since they are not just rooms. They are like little apartments for the time you are here. It's one of the most beautiful hotels in Los Angeles and every inch is bathed in light. The furniture is like a dream and will inspire you to change things wehn you get home.
It's a glorious experience....
