Not only does Stowe's serve up the freshest and tastiest seafood in West Haven,but the people who work there are friendly and very helpful with suggestions on what to order and how to cook fresh seafood at home. Lobster rolls are just delicious with big chunks of lobster and dripping savory butter,clam strips are tender and sweet and the soft shell crab while in season is crispy on the outside and absolutely divine. Dont forgot to try the clam chowder and lobster bisque both are truly the best I've tasted creamy and flavorful loaded with seafood. And the guys that work there are pretty HOT too

First, Stowe's is so tiny that going around the corner, you just might miss it. But it is worth finding because it has amazingly fresh seafood. I am not a big fish fan and really hate the smell of fish in general. But despite also being a fish market, there is no old fish smell here- the seafood is that fresh. Items are cooked to order. There are great combo platters with items such as shrimp, crabcakes, fish, etc. OF course, lobster and other standards appear. There are also many choices for those who do not like fish. A basic that might not attract some, but I loved, was the fries. A HUGE portion cooked fresh when I ordered them, and they had no fishy taste from the oil or any other fried items.

This seafood placeisnot by the water but the food os ok. the prices seem to be a bit higher than some of the other places.this is more a quick bight to eat placewith a large selection. I dont recomment it if you are very hungry as they dont give you a big portion of food for the money you pay. I wouldnt recomment this for a date!

Stowes seafood at the corner of Beach St. and Washington Ave. has been a West Haven institution at various locations for over 50 years. The current incarnation is that of a very small fish market with approximately 4 indoor and 8 outdoor tables. The word that best describes Stowes is fresh. The seafood prepared here is of the highest quality and very economical as far as shoreline seafood places go. There is also a fish market with lobster and other delicacies of the sea.
