It's depressing to go to a shelter when you see so many dogs & cats that need homes. The West Haven shelter is a bit different. There's always a dog or cat that needs adoption, but they are very helpful in getting you the proper pet that you need. You may ask to see pictures ahead of time, so you don't have to feel bad when looking through the many pets they have looking for homes. In addition, there isn't a huge delay from the time you wish to adopt to the time you take your new friend home, like with other shelters. This place is also clean and very well staffed. The staff doesn't just do their job for the money, they really care about the animals that they place. This place is great!
