More
The University of Hartford's Summer Place camp is, in my opinion, the best day camp in the Hartford area. Campers are given the option of choosing from a massive variety of enrichment classes and sports. Campers start out with three 1 hour sports in the morning, have a 1 hour lunch, and then proceed to their first enrichment class. Once that class is finished there is a 15 minute popsicle break, followed by the final enrichment class of the day. The number of enrichment choices is well over 50, with rocketry, CSI, and TV Production being a few of the more popular ones. The camp is offered for three two-week segments throughout July and the beginning of August. Prices average $800 per camper per session.

More
This isn't the largest museum of its type, but it's sure to provide hours of entertainment for the family. They have live animals (mostly lots of reptiles), a lot of hands-on type of learning experiences for the kids, special exhibits, a computer learning center, and a planetarium. Planetarium shows cost a little extra, and some of the shows can be a little slow, but the experience of seeing the star display is great for kids and adults. There is a big, life size "whale" outside that the kids can walk through. One criticism is that there is no dining facility at the museum, and there really aren't many dining options in the immediate area. The shop is small but has some good items. This museum is part of the reciprocal museum pass program where you can get free admission if you're a member of another member museum.

This restaurant has got to be one of the best value places you will ever find. Fresh, tasty food for a very low price - can't beat it! This is also a very child-friendly place and we have been a regular for years. I noticed some feedback from others about the place needing better service - I would disagree as we have always received nothing but great service. Would like to also point out that one should keep it in perspective and be realistic about level of service expected - remember, this is a buffet, cheap eats kinda place - don't expect top notch service where you have to pay $$$$$ for ...
Pros: great value, food, service
Cons: none - we love it!
